He's an Irish mythological hero. He was just a dude so I have no idea where Square-Enix got that giant slobbering mess.

Dark Force from Phantasy Star 2 (or almost any of the PS games for that matter.) He was a huge mass with bulging biceps and heads growing out of those biceps, all with mouths that look like the creatures in "Aliens" minus the small head down the throat. It also didn't help that he was hard as fuck to beat.

What the heck does Linkin Park have to do with character designs? I thought it was only terrible music.

Ugliest enemy I have ever seen were the Feral Ghouls in Fallout 3. They are pretty grotesque, and targeting them in VATS is very hard, since I don't want to look at their heads.

Ferals scare me shitless. I believe it's just because they're in dark places, they look ugly and that horrible growl.

I was playing F3 last night and I had stupidly placed my headphones on the wrong way around... a feral ghoul came up and whacked me from behind and to the left (I heard it coming from the right) and it made me fuckin jump...

In Dead Space (god that game is full of hideous monstrosities) those creeps that breath poison into the air (they don't actually attack you though). Damn the creatures in Dead Space make a very particular and disturbing sound, something obviously human, but insanely distorted and mutated. They sound like they are desperate to break free from the state they're in but they also sound like they are extremely anxious to rip you apart.

The super fast soldier necromorphs were rather terrifying too... and I nearly jumped out of my skin the first time I got jumped on by one of the mutated babies...

Yeah that one. Took me ages to kill it in Hard cuz he closes his mouth too damn fast. Lucky for me I got that Hyper Hand Gun (forgot the name) from the second playthrough in Normal and made my life a whole lot easier.

Did you ever look at the Zerg Cerebrates from Starcraft? They were just a, I don't know, a loose puddle of biomass. Iy doesn't get much more disgusting than that.
