Worst maths GCSE paper ever

I'm sorry that I'm only 16 years old; I'm sorry that this is a games forum, albeit also being in the off topic section, but I just have to unleash my anger somewhere on the Internet to talk about just how crap this "thing" - Edexcel - is.

First of all, I am not bad at maths, I get nearly full marks and A*s on every mock that I've done this year, and I've never got anything below an A*, ever (yeah, because I'm Chinese). The problem I'm talking about here is that Edexcel thinks that there is "more" to maths than maths, so they thought of the absolutely "brilliant" idea of adding in questions such as: "Why is the Internet unreliable?" into the maths exam.

And this year, they have questions that simply cannot be answered with human language. It was basically: "Here are two equal halves of an equilateral triangles. They are the same. Why are they the same?" Another question was basically asking you to write out a questionnaire... no numbers involved, simply write out a question and some response boxes. It is just horrible. And it is because these questions that makes people like me, who are good and confident about maths, very very anxious about my otherwise perfect score.

And don't even get me started on science.

(BTW, did i mention that the tagline of Edexcel is: "Changing lives through learning"?)

Dude that Maths paper was EASY AS PIE!

I've been getting B's for practices but I think an A maybe A* is possible here. I didn't see that internet question but the 2 halves of an equilateral triangle?
Just say it's been divided equally so they must be equal triangles.

I honestly had to keep checking I was doing the Higher paper not Foundation from some of the easy questions.

I'm you eight years later - don't worry about the GCSE scores, you'll only put them on your CV on days when you're feeling a bit self-righteous. A-level will piss you off less and your degree will really sort you out. And you'll look back and laugh at the ridiculous crap kids are taught for GCSE maths...

Alright the question is kind of silly still it's just a geometry question (I guess it's there to check if you understand the theory instead of only the number crunching, but it's still a silly question of that type) but a questionnaire, what the hell?

But please tell us about the science.

"Here are two equal halves of an equilateral triangles. They are the same. Why are they the same?"

Since the triangle is equilateral.

I just took the final A level Finance exam last week and I know what you mean.
No questions about money ?!
It's finance!
Instead, it was that same crap about how the internet is unreliable, as well as a load of other redundant shit.

In a finance exam? Are you sure you were in the right exam?

Surely it's because they are "equal halves"?

Edit: they're not the same; they would be converted by means of a mirror plane, which means they are enantiomeric (in two dimensions). In three dimensions they would be equivalent.

Don't worry, GCSE's are incredibly easy - you can get A's whilst getting a lot of questions wrong, as for the poorly worded question... if a lot of people get it wrong you might get a percentage boost in all your marks due to their mistake.

That shit was easy as hell, they are the same because all of the angles are exactly the same because, together they make an equilateral triangle

easiest paper in ever

honestly why complain if your going to ace it?

plus the two sides of a triangle is to test whether you can prove the obvious...

This wasn't in there.

That's to do with collecting data for statistics parts of maths.

I'm just glad there weren't any super hard questions about surds and vectors. I hope I'll get an A this time, but remember if the paper is easy the grade boundaries will be higher.

And the OCR 21st century science course is shit.

Third Grade Math: What is 3x3?

Fourth Grade Math: What is 12*12

Fifth Grade Math: What is 2*6*8

Sixth Grade Math: Why? Why? Why? Why? How? Show your work!!!!!

Ever since then I've hated math with a passion.

Well both imply the same thing lol. If you have an equilateral triangle if you cut it in half both halves must be equal.
