I bought Assassins creed, I wish with all my heart I had rented or something.
Oh, god I just remembered, I pre-ordered Assassins creed 2. WILL I NEVER LEARN!
Well, unless you bought the pc version and then realised that ubisoft doesn't care at all about PC users, and is happy to realese console ports that fail upon execution on said pc's (and before anyone comments, yes, my pc is far beyond the recommended stats, it seems that devs are too inept to work with things that aren't bog standard low end pc wannabe crap hardware than to actually code for quality computer experience). It seems to be almost common that developers and publishers care more about consoles than PCs, even though computers are what drives all technological developments. (Yes, your shitty tri-core celeron xbox360s and dual core pentium 4 playstation 3s are nowhere near up to cheap gaming PC spec. Get over it already and move to the one true gaming platform.)
Ubisoft, Bethesda and Activision will never be getting my hard earned dollars again, that's for sure. They can keep their low spec console port shit, I'll only be investing in games that actually utilise the PC and all the hardware upgrades that go with it (Like far superior graphical ability, advanced memory usage and size, hard disk access and all that, the sort of things that consoles, being exceptionally low-end pc's with serious software restrictions, try to emulate but are so far behind in tech it's funny). Which honestly, in recent days, limits me to Left 4 Dead, Dawn of War 2 and the few other games (mostly MMOS, sadly) released for PC without conlse downgrading.
Without trying to hijack the thread, how long are we PC gamers going to put up with inferior console ports before we actually organise and try to do something about it? I for one am sick of the shitty ports offered to PCs, for a dollar cost that is well over the console (or wannabe low-end PC with no capabilty other than low end games, whatever you decide to call it). We made gaming, and without us, technology would NOT advance, and I for one, am sick of having crap games with console era graphics and gameplay offered up as the be all and end all of gaming once a month.
Viva La PC! The one and forever gaming platform, that all others wish they could be.
