For example the worst one I ever saw was a scene in a cheech and chong movie where they opened a bag that had drugs in it originally, but in the tv cut it had diamonds. And The line I grow it in my field was still used. So, what was the worst cut you've ever seen?

Silence of the Lambs, when Hannibal says "What did Miggs say to you?" to Clarice.
I understand why they edited it, but then it screws up the start the next meeting between the two characters.

Either Pulp Fiction or Get Shorty. Both of those movies have quite a bit of swearing in them, so they were quite different when broadcast. Interestingly, Get Shorty was being played on the Family Channel.

Every single Die Hard.

It just isn't the same when Bruce Willis yells "Yippie-ki-yay My friend".

Thankfully film edits don't happen too much on British TV - at least, not to the extent of non-cable US films. I remember watching Speed and Die Hard while in Florida and being very amused about the cutting of sweary words without changing the scene. The result was that almost no words matched up to the actors' mouth movements.

But its Scrubs on e4 that does my nut in. They have a habit of cutting out the build up to many jokes, but leaving the punchline in because it has no reference to sex or whatever. This is just extremely confusing and irritating. Can't think of any specific examples as Big Brother has replaced it on the schedules as of late, but I am sure fellow Brits will agree here

You know I saw Snakes on a Plane on USA I think. I knew they couldn't say that dialogue and since that was the only part I liked I kept on going.

But my two cents to this is Scarface on network TV. It's utterly unwatchable.

Interestingly it used to happen a lot in the early 90s. I remember the JCVD film where he plays a legionairre who esscapes to America to take care of his dead brother's family and ends up in a fight club. During the last fight people were crying "beat the snot out of him" instead of "beat the shit out of him". Interestingly they left the rather bloody fight scenes uncensored as well as mr barbeque at the beginning.

Yeah as well as when Paramount/Comedy Central plays them but every curse is silenced so it's like the characters take a deep breath. Really cuts into Doctor Cox's monologues.

On "Me, Myself, And Irene" i remember they replaced "************" with the phrase "Mammajamma"

I thought that was pretty funny.

up here in Canada they don't edit much really, tho i do remember CityTV could bleep out the mother part of ************ every once in a while

Showcase has an awesome commercial about not censoring swearing with the Usual Suspects but i couldn't find a video of it
