Also that crazy Viking/death/black/whatever the fuck you want to call it metal.
You just said 3 very different sub genres.

It's like me saying "I hate that jazz/blues/classical stuff"
No, not really - sure, fans of those sub-genres of metal will be quick to tell you just how different they are, but to literally anyone else, they all sound exactly the same: Like a bunch of long-haired men screaming/growling/rhythmically grunting, accompanied by very angry sounding music.

If you can't see why that would be the case, consider this: In Metal, there's a term called "clean vocals", which in literally any other genre would just mean "the vocalist sings". That there is a need to label singing as a specific vocal technique says literally everything you need to know about why non-metal enthusiasts generalize like that.

Knew I'd get called out on that, and no, no it's not Jazz, Blues and Classical are completely different genres, not SUB-genres and they pretty much all sound the same anyway.

I hate all this heavy Nazi industry noise metal shit that my friend keeps sending me, it's not music, it's just noise blended with speeches from Hitler.

And most of today's modern pop. 80's pop was awesome (Michael Jackson!!!), but today's pop is about girls being slutty, which I don't approve.

I'm probably gonna garner some flak for saying this, but I simply can't STAND Owl City. God. I don't like Adam Young's "voice" (which is really just auto-tuned vocoder whispering), I HATE his lyrics because they're sappy and stupid and about as deep as a cup of water in the Sahara, and his instrumentation is usually three or four electronically generated notes stuck in a blender of effects and set to puree.
AND DEAR GOD IF I HAVE TO HEAR THAT GUY TALK ABOUT HOW MUCH HE WANTS TO HUG NINE OUT OF TEN FIREFLIES ONE MORE TIME I'M GONNA file a formal complaint.
Although, in a weird way, Owl City inspires me. I know exactly what I don't want the songs I write to sound like now!
Those are the reasons I like 'em =P

I will never defend that it is good music. I have listened to the lyrics, and I'm fairly sure they are literally nonsensical, as in one line will relate in no way whatsoever to the next. But I listen to Rage Against The Machine, Pink Floyd, The Fall of Troy and stuff, which are either very political with a strong message, or in the latter, very busy and angry most of the time, so it's nice to have something I can just let wash over me without having to think "oh that's clever".

If you would like your hatred fuelled, then I have noticed that many-a-time he will use the phrase "I say the stupidest things" in different songs, and I noticed that one of his songs starts with a techno riff(?) that is repeated in a different song, just on a guitar.

I'm into classic rock so as a 17 year old male i have long hair, (i'm in a band so it's ok)so when people assume that i like death metal i get really offended cos its just noise, allos applies to emo and crap cos its all so self loathing and yet bubblegum but for some reason people see me and assume i like shit. thats only true if Led Zep are shit and anyone who thinks that are not to be trusted.

GRAAAH! TASTY, TASTY HATE!!!
NOM NOM NOM.

Erhem... anyway...
Simple lyrics can be great, don't get me wrong. Shit, look at the Ramones. But Owl City's lyrics aren't the kind of simple that makes me stop thinking and start relaxing. They're downright condescending. Maybe the rest of the populace disagrees with me, but I don't want to listen to lyrics that match up to the tastes of a ten-year-old girl who wears pink ribbons.

Skipknot, A7X, Bring Me The Horizon, any band sold at hot topic and any band that these little kids think is "Metal".

Seriously, all those bands are a disgrace to REAL metal music.
Fucking Amen.

People that think Suicide Silence is metal. I'm glad Mustaine booted them from their Canadian tour. You can always count on him to do something metal.

What...the...fuck. Is the Vocalist a boy or a girl? I honestly can't tell.
I suppose it's a boy.

And he tries to sound like and adult, which just... doesn't really work.

Eh, it's not that bad. The guitar is pretty sweet, though I agree that the vocals could use some work. The video itself also paints them as posers
Well, it's not that bad, but the guitars or melodies are very bland, nothing special or new, and easy to play.
They ARE kids, man.

Freaxxx by Brokencyde. Whats worse is that my female friends actually like it..
Those... Things are NOT your friends. Coming into this thread, this was my number one choice, but I knew it HAD to be up here somewhere. Didn't take too long to find it.

"Do you know the enemy" by Green day. FOUR YEARS since their last albom, and that was the best they could do? What a friggin disgrace.
