I was talking to one of my friends yesterday, about how his Guild Wars account kept being hijacked (this was the fifth time in a row). Eventually, the conversation turned into this subject. I'm interested to see if there are other stories like ours.
We've all had one. It could be the final straw that breaks your faith in the Internet. It could be something so infuriating that it results in something around (or of) your computer breaking.
It doesn't necessarily have to (though it can) be from a game. It's basically something enough to make you stay well-enough away from your computer (or just the Internet). It could be something to solidify the realisation of how cruel or moronic the Internet can really be.

Just to be fair, I'll start off with ones where I happen to be the bad guy, because I can be an asshole. I just happen to be drunk at (most of) the time.

In one match of 'Left 4 Dead', I discovered that my team were stupid to the point of brain haemorrhage. They insisted on doing their own thing and wouldn't listen to anything resembling "tactics". The enemy were beating us 5000+ to ~1200. So I waited until everyone got to the safe room and hosed them down with my shotgun and only promised to let them up after they listened to some sense. After they told me to f*** off, I executed them and left.

In a 'A Kingdom for Keflings' game (this was a pretty funny one), one of my friends kept stealing my material stockpiles, so I walked over to his base and told him to give them back. Every time he said no, I kicked his Castle in. On the third time (the time that destroys the structure), I just decided that I didn't want to kick a critical building to the ground anymore, so I kicked his portcullis down instead and ran away.

And the times where it's the rest of the Internet being assholes...

On a Halo3 game, someone's guest kept on shooting me and chipping away at my health (and letting me recharge so I couldn't die). Being a guest, I couldn't tell him to stop it, and his Parent was on the enemy team. Eventually, I just turned around and gave him a faceful of Spartan Laser. I was promptly told that 'TeamKilling is not acceptable' and I was booted. My friends (it was a clan match) left with me, we started another game, invited those same people (who seemed to think that this behaviour was entirely acceptable) and gave them every insult under the sun.

In the Gamespot forums, my very first post (a question in regards to the forum mechanics) turned into everyone (including the moderators) being a base full of f***wits. The first replying post was to tell me to sodomise my pets. About three pages in, though, someone stepped in and singlehanded slagged everyone out of the topic thread. I'm still friends with that guy.

In the Sonic-Cult forums, my signature was a diatribe to web-based censorship. It was like that for a day, before I discovered that the ROOT Admin (the guy in charge of it all) put a 1024x768 image of porno in my signature while I was on vacation. I came back to find 100+ outraged messages in my inbox, and a week-long ban on my head. When I got around to eliminating the porn and apologising, it happened again, with the words beneath it: "Remove this image and you'll be banned. Thanks for bumping dead topics."
I took it up with the administration, who all essentially told me to f*** off, using different action verbs, death threats, and insults.

This is why I don't like big forums much, but this one looked friendly and well-enforced enough.
Does anyone have anything like this?

I had my Xbox live account phished... It took a month to get it back, and I swear Microsoft didn't believe me for awhile, til they noticed the unusual charges to my credit card through XBL... Two 5000 point cards (priced at $62.50 each) in a day, when I've never bought a point card that expensive previously... Mmm... craziness.
But I did get it back, and the hacker left a bunch of his info on my account (through messages and whatnot), so if it happens again, i'll know who to myspace and/or call...

No, although Left 4 Dead does seem to have a lot of team killing going on for no reason. How it remains so popular I have no idea.

In one game of CoD4, there was an Indian(fine...Native American) who was self-admittedly high on X, peyote, and drunk. Throughout several matches, he was blabbering on about his skills, and constantly threatened to "find" people over Live and kill them. The only good part about the whole thing was when he was on the other team, and my team got to gang-rape him for ten minutes.

The moment I found out you could watch porn on the net for free. It was simultaneously the best and worst moment on the net.

How about that rule of the Internet? Something along the lines of "Anything you enjoyed as a child, you can be sure that someone made it into porn."

I'm not going there apart from saying that this also crushed me.

It was the moment I found out that my will power goes down the drain when confronted with a pair of big, bouncing breasts.

In any game where team killing is permitted, I've been team killed by multiple people multiple times, so when I go to shoot them back, my entire team starts yelling "OMG TEEM KILLR SHOOTE HIMM!"

...I swear some people don't deserve to have an xbox360

I would have to say my most unwanted experience was when I played WoW, after getting to a decent level, went back to the the beginning area, and was constantly asked for money, or having whoreish looking characters trying to "hit on me" and whatnot.

I hate that stuff....

My worst was being verbally abused by Brokeback Mountain fans on IMDb, just because I said I didn't like the film. I swear to god, there should be a mandatory IQ test or something before you're allowed on the internet.

Playing Halo 3 with my boyfriend, and someone on our team fired at me with a rocketblaster, so I respawned, hunted the f***wit down and gave him an arse full of bullets. I was immediately booted from the team, losing my boyfriend exp. Apparently it was all my fault and I had a blazing row with my boyfriend over it (yerr, we were that sad). Ever since then, I have lost faith in Halo.

Oh, and when people squat on you after they kill you. Yerr, teabagging a dead corpse is hilarious |: Especially considering that Master Chief has no balls.

His voice is too deep to have any less than THREE testicles.

Naw, what's funny is when I teabag someone on Left 4 Dead, despite the fact that I play as Zoey.

Apart from people being general idiots or just downright gits, I don't usually have that much of a problem with people.
When I had a 360, which I don't any more I may add. If someone was being annoying I ignored it unless they personally targeted me or any of my friends that I so happened to be playing with.
Upon such an occurrence I would unleash a verbal berating the likes of which they have never seen. Then if they still persisted I would correct every last detail of their grammar and if they used an unjustified or just plain ridiculous insult I would explain in detail why it was wrong.
They hated me for it.
It was great.
Although I was never disproportionately rude, phrases such as "Unworthy pustule" and "Swine" cropped up.

Besides, it's nothing to worry about really. It's the internet, people rebuke and chide each other all the time. I just try to do it with a little more class.
