About 20+ years ago.My mother was telling me the rather sad news that my 6 week old cousin had just died.Unfortunately I had just been watching cartoons and had visions of Jerry doing stupid things to Tom in my head and couldn't suppress my laughter. The look of shock on my mother's face is something that will remain with me forever

I was walking from class back to my dorms when I witnessed another student get hit by a car, flip over the top of it, and ended up breaking like...6 ribs, his arm(multiple places), and both his legs. I felt bad after the shock factor wore off and I also called the ambulance...of course this was after I was done laughing so hard I was almost crying.

Funerals and memorials, always the worst.

Ooh, another one (not me though). In one of my highschool science classes, our teacher was talking about some tsunami and how the change in tides it created before it came attracted people to the beach, which put them in massive danger. A couple people started laughing hysterically, and then got a lecture and detention.

I was at the cinema watching the remake of Friday the 13th. Right when the obnoxious teenager got shot threw the head with an arrow I burst out laughing. I was the only one in the entire theater! My girlfriend loved me for that.

I was playing baseball and hit a girl (she was like three) with the bat when I threw it, then fell laughing..... I felt like an arse hole.
If you've ever played baseball as a kid, this happened. It happened to me as well.

Now, the worst moment I ever laughed, thankfully, nobody was watching. I was driving to work listening to a news report about a father who had sexually abused his daughter since she was 13. Now that she was 18 she told police about it, and he was going on trial. It seemed pretty depressing, and I wanted something a little more lighthearted before starting my shift, so I switched to a rock station. They were playing "Consoler of the Lonely" by the White Stripes, and this was the line of the song:

"I'm told it's everything a man could want, and I shouldn't compain!"

I instantly laughed. Then thought about how demented that is, and was glad nobody saw that.

There was an episode about this sort of thing in Coupling. Around the beginning of the episode, Jeff, who is the expert on awkward behavior, talks about how people can laugh solely because they are thinking, "Oh god, it would be awful if I were to laugh right now. DON'T LAUGH!" The final part of the episode takes place at a funeral and hilarity ensues as all the characters resist the urge to laugh during the speeches made by the relatives. Their struggle is accompanied by a visual metaphor.

The first time I got in a fight and he punched me in the face I laughed so hard I doubled over laughing it was very hard explaining to people what happened.
