I loved Witchaven for PC. Got it for $10 from COMPUSA for my new Pentium 120 hz. Fantastic FP sword adventure. Then, I got 2 for $15. I expected greater things, but, this time, the game was literally broken. Heartbreak.

What were your worst sequels ever?

Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Splinter Cell isn't stealth anymore. Just plain, straight-forward action with stealth elements. Huge disappointment.

To be honest? Truly? Halo 3. It doesn't hold a damn bar of magnitude of fun that Halo 2 brought. I really wish Microsoft hadn't pulled the plug on the old Xbox Live.

Red Dead Redemption...
I'm with you on this one. Red Dead Revolver was an awesome game Redemption is just more of the same clunky mechanics and terrible storytelling Rockstar has been shilling out for as long as I can remember.

Game: pick a recent Sonic, or Mega Man, or any other rape of a classic character.
Movie: Battle Royale 2: Chinkonka. This movie is as bad as the first one is amazing.

Fable 2. I loved number 1 but hated number 2. The weapons and armour sucked.

Red Dead Redemption...
I can actually understand that. Red Dead Redemption wasn't really much of a sequel at all. Only spiritually.

I liked the gameplay mechanics and everything, but the only similarity was really in the name and to some extent, the time period.

Advance Wars 2 (Gameboy Advance). This really doesn't deserve worst sequel ever, as it WAS a good game, it just didn't do enough in my opinion to advance upon its predecessor to qualify it as a legitimate sequel. It was more like an expansion pack, although those don't exist on the GBA.

To tell the truth, I don't have many games that are sequels that I was disappointed with. Some of my favorite games are sequels to games I've never played, lol.

I'm gonna go ahead and say Metroid: Other M

I know there's a long sad history of mediocre sequels to choose from and maybe I should give it more time to sink in.
But honestly every second I spent playing that game was just a slap in the face. It's got to be one of the worst sequels I've ever played.

Red Dead Redemption...
?? why do you say such things?
(speaking through vault intercom)

It just felt so... barren. The story was great, but Rockstar just doesn't get the point of a sandbox game. The game just became a routine of taking extremely long horse rides from one point to another just to get into yet another gunfight. And lots of shooting (and only shooting) would be fine if it wasn't a sandbox game.

But you have to understand that is what the old west was like(and in some places still is) You wouldn't see people everywhere. Just vistas and the occasional animals.

I kinda second what your saying.

It was an amazing story, with plenty of things to do, but i didnt want to do any of them.

I didnt get it to pick flowers or shoot at birds from the back of a moving train. Everything in between missions felt kinda pointless.

Dont get me wrong, i loved the game, and the ending was beast, but i just didnt care for the game itself. The sandbox.

Then I recommend one of these two options:
1. Ditch realism, in sandbox games it can just be irritating.
2. Don't set a sandbox game in a time period with absolutely nothing to do except shoot people.

I may get slapped for this but....

Everything after (and some stuff before) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. FOR A MOVIE TIE-IN, it was actually reeeeeally good on the DS and PS2, which is unheard of. I loved it, which made me buy the next game. Which I DESPISED!!!!!! It went from creative RPG and interpreted spell casty, character-switchy fun to ripped-from-movie-copy-paste slog. I was so disappointed.
