In the first Half-Life, theres that "Alien Mode" thing, and everybody talks like a Vortigon, anybody know what I'm talking about?
Alien mode is pretty cool, what with the electrcity shooting from my hands and a ***** slapping people left and right, was it really right to have everybody sound so ANNOYING?

The sound of a Witch crying in Left 4 Dead. I don't know where she is, I don't know what she's doing, and the fact that you absolutely HAVE to turn your flashlight off when you hear her crying makes it even more difficult to find her. And if you DO find her, you better pray the A.I. Director isn't being petty, sadistic, or petty and sadistic and placing the Witch RIGHT IN FRONT OF WHERE YOU NEED TO GO. Oh, and by the way, on higher difficulties, the Witch can one-shot-kill you. 'nuff said.
The sound of a Tank's roar in L4D is nerve-wracking too. Oh, God, that thing is coming right at me WHY WON'T YOU GET OUT OF MY WAY ZOEY I NEED TO RUN- OH GOD IT'S CHEWING ON MY LEGS SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP, LOUIS STOP HUMPING THE PILLS BOTTLE AND GET OVER HERE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
At least, that's the usual transcript of me playing solo in L4D....

The sound of mine being tripped in Fallout 3. You can either:
A-Jump back, usually not quick enough
B-Jump forward, usually into another mine

"nuclear launch detected" I hated hearing those 3 words in starcraft soooo much. Scrambling to find that ghost in the whole 6 seconds you had sucked ass because you knew right after that bomb blew up your army or base defences the next thing was the enemy army comming to grind you into dust
