I was checking out the imdb page of an actor from Torchwood (I can't seem to recall who or why) and there was a link to an article there. The title of the article was;
"Ianto's Death Highlighted Capt. Jack's Immortality"
I'm not usually the sort of person who gets angry over things like that, but that's when I'm on a game or series' wiki and I pretty much expect to have to be dodging spoilers. For someone to actually be so inconsiderate to make something like that the title of their article without caring that not everybody has gotten to then end of the season yet, just... makes me wanna kick things.

Someone spoiled the Origami Killer in Heavy Rain for me. I was seething with rage.

Not a game, but I was stupid enough to read a review for Dexter's season 4 finale before I saw it. The final scene still grabbed me since it was so nicely done, but I still hate myself for that.

I actually blocked IGN and TV.com to make sure I wouldn't check the season 5 finale review last month. Too bad it was just a little bit lame.

Bioshock's ending was spoiled by my little brother, who was playing through on easy while I had to go to work.

He then commenced to put the word "Would you kindly?" every time he asked me to do something. Needless to say, it didn't get done.
Ok, that's hilarious. I love your brother.

the last time I was told a spoiler was a friend on live told me about that woman in AC Brotherhood (cant mind her name now, the one that breaks Desmond out in AC2) abd I still haven't played it so I don't actually know if its true or not. I'll probably not be back in this topic, but there it is.

My buddy ruined Lord of the Rings for me...

"And in the end, Frodo just takes the ring anyways... Hooks up with Sauron and becomes FRODOOOONNNN! Massive Battle Hobbit laying waste to Middle Earth!"

Which technically didn't happen, but, I was ten...I believed it.

A friend ruined the end of Bioshock for me. I am now permanently deprived of experiencing such an awesome twist for myself (and it doesn't help that 95% of the time, I primarily play video games to follow the plot rather than indulge in the gameplay mechanics, with some noteworthy exceptions of course)

Every game reviewer and other people who played Bioshock.

"The Bioshock Twist". Yeah you know what I'm talkin bout. If it had been a surprise, my socks would have been blown the fuck off.

This one ruined Final Fantasy forever for me:
I was about 30 hours into FF7 when my friend casually strolled into my dorm and asked, "So, is Aeris dead yet?"

No, she wasn't. And now, she won't be, because I'm not going back over 30 hours of game play because I just sank a bunch of XP into my best healer, who apparently doesn't survive the first disk. I got up, shut the PSX off, and did my homework instead.
I just haven't been able to get into an FF game after that. I just haven't felt like it.

Working at a game store I had basically every game in the last 6 years ruined if I didn't beat it in 48 hours. Not all of us have that much time to dedicate to playing. Also we have a Barnes & Noble so I get a good smattering of books ruined too.

My brother spoilt the second Pirates of the Carribean movie for me and Simpsons spoilt the Darth Vader is Luke's father thing. I've sorta had the New Vegas ending ruined for me from various sources, just makes me want to play it even more.

"Luke, I am your father"
I never noticed how often the line is misquoted until I read a site on the most misquoted lines. Vader never actually says that, the real line is "No, I am your father". Sorry for correcting you but I'm a little bit of a nerd.

My friend spoiled this for me, and at the time I was really pissed off. Looking back, it was pretty obvious, actually.
A certain pirate is not who you think she is
I also found out about the RDR twist online. Same thing with the Braid ending. However, I did not have Bioshock spoiled for me, which probably has the biggest twist of all.

Also, Super Smash Bros Melee ruined for me who Sheik was, though I was like 8 at the time so I didn't really care, and this too was fairly obvious.

On an unrelated note, why do we use spoiler tags to hide potential spoilers if those who already know about said spoiler don't need to see what is hidden, and those who don't know about said spoiler don't want to see what is hidden?

I asked a guy at college about what he thought of MGS4 and he completely ruined it for me. He also ruined a lot of other games.

Also when ME2 came out, spoilers were posted in topic headings on the Bioware forums that spoiled the game before I even had it.
