And she goes through my trash to see what reciepts I have for what I've bought, and looks through my room probably on a once a week basis.
She's a psycho controlling *****.
Ditch her, get a new life away from that freaky woman. Tell her you don't want to be part of her stupid fruedian power game.

For me its the classic my dad is a massive dick issue.

Verbally and physically abusive to my mum in my early years. I remember when I was very young watching him beat my mum when she was heavily pregnant with my sister.

Was so awful with money we nearly lost our house 4 times and my mum is still paying off debts he rung up in her name.

Was just generally abusive and irresponsible to me and my siblings. Once watched my toddler brother nearly drown at a pool while he queued for a water slide and continued to do so while the life guards saved my brother.

Also been an immense source of entertainment in the fact that some of the stuff hes done is so stupid its comedic.

He sent my sister a "Dear Daughter-in-law" card for her birthday.

Another time after my parents divorced he abandoned me and my siblings in london after his mother phoned him to say that his dog had ran off. I still remember being 12, watching him jump onto a train while shouting back "Bye kids, gotta go!" and trying to work out what the fuck to do next.

But luckily for me my mum was and is the best parent in the world, completely self-less in her efforts to make sure we had the best childhood we could despite my father.

Terrible.

Well, my parents are actually really cool most of the time, and I don't really mind them.

I do have a friend though whose mom is into "petticoating" as a punishment. Up until he was like 14.
What's that?
Basically, if he did something really bad, like, say, egg a house, his parents had a stash of clothing...in his size...for girls. They would make him dress up as a girl, make-up, the whole nine yards, and go to the store, school, etc. Forced crossdressing. It was really popular in the 1800's, especially in European nations.

Wow, this thread is depressing. My parents are pretty cool, but I still always fins stuff to be pissed at, even if it's a reasonable punishment for something I knowingly, consciously did. I guess it's true, humans will always find something to ***** about, no matter how good their situation :)

Wow, compared to most of the stories here, my parents are amazing.

I wouldn't feel right complaining after reading most of these.

My dad was an alcoholic and physically abusive too me, but still had me somehow convinced that my mother hated me so I kept living with him. then when i was 16 he stole $350 (all I had) out of my bank account and just disappeared. I never saw or heard from him again.

My step-brother broke something, his father blamed me for it and lifted me off the ground by my ear, even when he kept telling him it was his fault. Another time, it was by the throat.

I hate that bastard...

I moved out of my parents place 4 years ago. My dad has been claiming me on his taxes until this past tax season. I'm 23 years old...

Each tax year, I should have gotten over 1k back on Income taxes, but I didn't... I should have gotten 600 from the GW bush stimulus package, but I didn't... I also should have been approved for over 4k in state grants for school and 10k in Stafford loans. I didn't...

I lost all that money because each year he claimed me on his taxes, he got back 200 bucks...

Him if I had to pick between annoucing their divorce while I was on shift at work, Stealing 6,000 dollars from me and saying it was in my best interest, disowning me and telling me to kill myself when i got in my first car accident or smashing my first super soaker with my baseball bat in front of me for squirting him back in a water fight. I would have to go with him eating my ruban sandwitch when I went to take a leak.

My father stole my checkbook and faked some checks for around 1500$ before i realized it...

Fuckin deadbeat, the funny thing is that he makes about 35k$ more than me a year and yet somehow he's always flat broke. After that stunt i changed my bank account and told him he wasn't welcome here anymore, ever, and i wasn't interested in talking to him either.

He tried saying it wasn't him, but my bank certified that the checks were going into his account so yeah...

Edit : luckily , my mother's pretty much the best i could hope for, so i guess 50% ain't so bad :)

Worst thing my parents did was probably when spanking was taken off the table - the folks had to come up with a new way to punish me that was more socially acceptable. I'm not saying that they beat the crap out of me, it was only ever an open handed slap on the butt - painful, but not like getting whipped with a belt or punched into submission. So they decided that humiliating me in front of people was a good way to keep me in line. Family friends or strangers were the preferred audience, and it usually came out of nowhere - I'm talking weeks would go by without punishment for whatever stupid thing I'd done and then out of the blue they'd be bringing up stuff that no one wants talked about. You can fill in the blanks yourselves, anything you wouldn't want your parents telling strangers was fair game so far as they cared. That shit went on for years and years. I still can't forgive either of them for some of it. There'll be very few tears from me when they die.

My mum's the devil, and my dad shows me affection by deliberately missing when he throws empty beer bottles at me ... yeah I know that's a quote, but it's true.

Surprisingly, I am totally normal, you'd never guess it from my parents.
