Sexual/Offensive: I saw some guy in TF2 named "The Rape Flavored Cake" and someone else named "Dickbutt". And back when I used to play Maplestory there was a guy named "iFap10xaDay." Then there was N***ERLOVER on Gunz.

Generic/Stupid: Some jerk named Neomage on FFXI, a guy named kvane with numbers after it on Mabinogi who accused me (Knave) of stealing his name, and someone on Fiesta named xBrokendreams who claimed that her username was original. And people wonder why I no longer play free MMOs.

People who try and make themselves sound hardcore.

For example i played "Elitedeathsniper" And he sucked at sniping.

Any combination of the following words:

Killer
Killah
Sniper
Silent
Stealth
Stealthy
Ninja
Assassin
Slayer
I could go on....

That, to me, shows a lack of creativity and that while they try to sound badass, they end up sucking at whatever they are playing. Honestly, in ANY FPS I have ever played online, anyone with the word "sniper" in their gamertag sucked at sniping. Now, I don't play every game on every console, so there are probably exceptions, but in my experience, that is my rule of thumb.

Pretty much this, although you forgot "elite" and "death". I think all bad user names can be summed up by these words.

Also ginganinja doesnt count A friend with a massive ginger afro has thta.

OT: Long, inpronouncable names / names where numbers substitute letters / names featuring numerous X's in front and behind / names followed by numerous numbers... I've seen too many here <.< Sorry guys
These are the main cringeworthy types of names in my book.

Alternately... Short, simple names, with only one or very few (strategically) placed capital letters, or names that -fit- the setting you're playing in (Example: playing Battlefield 1942 as a British soldier under the name "Sgt. Davis", or a German soldier called "Pvt. Klaus Haubtmann") is an instant winner to me.. Sadly, most people don't see -reason- D8
