CoD4 Zombie Mod - My friend and I were trying to find good spots to lay low on each map near the end of the round in order to be the last survivors; then we'd split up and create havoc until one of us died. Well, anytime that he'd die early in a round he'd wait for me to hide (when there were only a few survivors left) and call all the Zombies to me preventing me from being the last survivor and therefore loosing out on XP bonuses :(

COD4 Some asshat capturing a point in last stand, after you've blown a hole in his throat. Hate last stand...

Having someone save over your almost complete save in Ultima:pagan... and having them save in midair whilst jumping into a lake.

I think the worst video game betrayal I ever experienced was when I invited my friend over to play a game on my playstation.

We were playing some kind of space shooter game, when he pulled on his controller a little too hard and he ended up pulling the console right off the t.v and it fell on the floor and stopped working.

So I had to get it sent to the repair shop. My poor Playstation. . .sniffle.

Me and my girlfriend's kid were playing TF2 over our lan, we're on opposite teams and I'm playing spy. I've just got into position to sap a really annoying sentry and win the game for blue when I hear him shout. "THE PYRO IS A SPY" into his mic. Pretty much every enemy in the area immediately turns and ventilates the fuck out of me. Screenwatching little bastard.
That is so freaking hilarious I could die. If I was there I woulda laughed until I peed myself.

I don;t really have any of these stories, I am more of a single player dude. I used to knock my little brother off of his ostrich all the time when we were playing Joust together. He hated me a bit for doing it, then he stopped playing Joust with me...

Now I'm sad...

My 1019 gamecube memory card suddenly stopped working properly and all my data was lost, including a half-finished JRPG that I spent 50+ hours of work on.

A friend of mine recently got Soul Calibur 4 for his birthday and I've never played it, nor do I own an Xbox 360, so I ask him to let me have a go at the controls for a bit and learn how to do some moves. Five seconds later I lose the match. Thanks, Matt. Happy fucking birthday.

I remember a time when two friends of mine and I were having a marathon session of Warcraft 2. While we were building up our forces one guy typed a message to the other, "Let's gang up on Cody (that's me)." So for the next half hour we built up our forces. I thought I was doing pretty good, until they both landed on different areas of my shoreline. I got obliterated by the two of them as they gleefully tossed insults my way (we were all in the same room). However, one of the two (the instigator) secretly kept a large portion of his army back, just barely making himself look effective while the battle ensued. When it looked like I was gone, he launched his attack on the other dude (who used almost his entire army attacking me). This was met with some pretty crude remarks, of course.

The two of them fought for about another half hour and just as the instigator raised his hands, I made some comment about a fat lady who hadn't sung yet. Yes, in their childish and brutal backstabbing and manipulations, they didn't realize I had a couple of wood choppers left in my orc army, buried deep in the corner of the map. They thought that I was playing another game or something after they supposedly demolished me. I came in with my dragon army (produced from a half hour of uninterrupted resource gathering) and swept across the whole map killing any stray units they had left.

It was a glorious day of friends killing friends. ;-)

i was recently at a lan party with a couple of friends. we were playing call of duty 4 and i was in the perfect sniper position for the certain map. then for no reason what so ever, one of my team mates starts shooting at me. he kills me for no reason. i go back to my spot and he guns me down again and again and again. this happens 10 times.
That's because you were sniping. Nobody likes a sniper, you tool. ;-)

Biggest betrayal I've ever had was when my Favourite MMORPRG was shut down by EA
MMORPRG=Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Racing Game
I literally Played MCO for atleast 4 hours everyday, I have never been addicted to another game like I was to that one. My 57' Corvette was the fastest around /cry.
Motor City Online:
RIP
Tragically cut after 3 years in production by EA
October 2001-August 2004

Memory card broke when I was on the last last disc of FFVIII.

Power outage while saving my game when I was playing Urban Chaos.

One of my friends thought it would be funny if he'd play as my hardcore character in Diablo 2, and he got himself killed by accident.

I have a friend who kills me every time he gets bored of playing a co-op game.
Me to. I now never play co-op with him. He gets bored very quickly. Once he practicaly begged me to go on halo 3 co-op, 5 minutes in and he will start killing me.
so you both have the same friend, or are you talking of a similarly inclined man?

this isnt reele betrayal nd more frustration.

whenever i play Halo co-op with my friends i always get anal raped. This is because my friend is very good. Seriously very good. I'm being dead honest, no exageration, when I say he got to a level fifty in team slayer in Halo 3 in 150 games.

Friend's little sister played, stole and broke my Pokemon Red cartridge. With the Mew on it. I got her back for it (bleach in the conditioner), but I still miss that fluffy little pile of pixels. The insult on the injury was her mother's response: "Why are you getting so upset? She's just a kid, and it's just a game."

Proving that I have bad luck with younger friends, another one stole my Neopets password (shut up, you), thieved all my good stuff and got me banned.

Does being betrayed accidentally count? If so...

Playing Bioshock (awesome game) on my PC. My gf at the time, also enjoyed playing it. I was pretty much 30 minutes away from Ryan, and decided to go get some food. So naturally, I saved the game and quit the game. When I came back upstairs some ten minutes later, I saw she was playing. I thought nothing of it. Until she decided she was bored and came off. I loaded the game back up to find my save, and been overwritten by her new game. /Facepalm.

Guilty Spark in Halo. Not really a betrayal that really effects anything, but it was just so badly executed.
