This happened almost 10 years ago in one of my first apartments, I got woken up to a chair being thrown through my front window and two guys threating to kill me. Found out later that the guy next to me owed his drug dealer money but the dealer got/was told the wrong apartment number.

"I woke up, with a clowns hand in my pants."

I say the worse is when I'm sleeping really good and I get called out for a fire or medical call, but since that is my job I'm used to it and it shouldn't bother me. It just sucks when I'm on my third straight day and I haven't slept at all and get called out for a full arrest or even worse just some drunk or something.

One of my friends got a new phone recently and, knowing that my phone was starting to break, offered his own phone to me, which I accepted and thanked him for. Unfortunately, he neglected to tell me that he had set the alarm to go off at 5am. The next morning, I woke up to deafeningly load pop music and spent the next ten seconds honestly believing that toy soldiers were besieging me.

One night I dreamed that I was taking a book from a shelf when the whole bookcase fell on top of me and that in the struggle to put it back, I knocked over a vase. I woke up wet with a wardrobe leaning against me.

Being dragged outside into the cold rain and being locked out of the house for ten minutes, thanks to my dad.
Mine's pretty similar.
My dad dragged me out of bed, threw me in the bathtub and turned on the cold shower. I couldn't breathe for ten seconds, the bastard. Needless to say, I was pretty damn awake.

Another pretty shitty one: You know this old school bells that make a noise like a ***** and varieties of it are still being used for fire alarms? That's the kind of doorbell my 40 square meter apartment has. I also happen to sleep in the same room as where the bell is located. That bell ringing + me recovering from a hangover in bed = not such a great wake up call.

Every time that thing rings I feel like I'm being electrocuted. Good thing I'm moving out soon.

Worst way the wake up? Being forced awake by your body after more 12 hours of sleep.

If you've experienced this, you know what I mean.

My friend slapping me across the face saying: "We have 20 minutes to get to our bus!"
We had twenty people in our room and it's a ten minute walk to the bus man did we run...

The police barged in my room the middle of the night. Apparently my roommate's ex broke in the house.

Needless to say I did not sleep for the rest of the week.

Funny story. I think the worst way I've been woken up is by fire alarm, but it was the events after the alarm itself that made it so bad. I live in the UK and am from England, but go to a University in Wales. I'm not a Welsh speaker at all. Anyway, this happened just after Christmas in my first year. Most first year students live in and are allocated to University-provided Halls of Residence, and would have a 'random' firedrill per semester. The one that hit me was at four in the morning sometime in January.

The alarm itself scared the poop out of me, but I mentioned the fact I go to University in Wales for a reason. The fire alarm blared for a little while, but it was followed by an automated voice immediately afterwards. It spoke in Welsh. As an English speaker with no ear for Welsh - I find it very hard to understand the separate words in each clause, it was actually very scary being woken up by a very loud alarm, illuminated red walls, and a electionic Welsh lady ordering me to leave the building. Of course there was an English translation afterwards, but the shock had left at that point.

The icing on the cake was that my room's light wasn't working at the time and I couldn't find my boots. I only found a boot. I had to abandon the search for the other one because we were being rushed out of the building. I hopped my way to the meeting point for a little while, but it was uphill and I soon gave up. I figured a muddy sock was worth it.

And the little cute marzipan designs on top of the cake? I found my missing boot later, behind my room's door.

Yeah my hallmates didn't let me live that one down. At least I managed to get pants on!

.. The worst way I'd rather not discuss.

The second most worst way, however! Waking up to the sound of a giant pail of ice cold water coming for my delicate, slowly awakening face. Rest assured, the perpetrator was.. dealt with. -_-

Not mine, but a friend's:

The guy's a pretty heavy sleeper, but when you fall out of the top of an bunk-bed and break your arm when you hit the ground, you tend to wake up. Screaming.

My 60 year old mom (who has a condition) fell down the stairs in our basement and was pinned down by the laundry and some wood that was stacked against the wall not yelling help...but basically whispering it.

She has a condition (aphasia) and doesn't like bothering us, so she didn't yell help. She just kinda yelped it quietly, even though I slept through a big tree getting chainsaw'd down just outside my window, I woke to this and ran down to help her.

I fell asleep in bed, I woke up under it with a lion staring at me.

(That would be my Lion King doll when I was six, a year that I was an extremely restless sleeper.)

My friend got an electrical shock game put 3 of the shockers down my pants and then set it off, I screamed like a girl and dived up out of the chair petrified. I was literally shaking for about 20 minutes after.
