I'd have to say the Chinese pistol from Fallout 3. It is, by far, the weakest weapon in the pistol category, which is the weakest class of weapon in the game. The only reason for using it would be if you have absolutely no other weapons with ammo/aren't broken.
The Unique version that sets people on fire is fn for about 3 seconds though.

This and the .32 pistol are just utterly pointless.

I love the look and feel of the 10mm pistol though, and taking down a deathclaw with it is very satisfying.

The Eliete Beam Weapon form SW: Republic Commando.
It's too hard to aim, and its only good for taking down other flying dudes that have the Beam weapon.
Yeah that thing did suck. I always wondered why it was trying to feel you up, though.

The Bio-Rifle in all the Unreal Tournament games. Gimmie a damn Flak Cannon!

The .32 and Chinese pistols in Fallout 3 are useless. I usually can do more damage by punching an enemy.

Spitting on zombies in Dead Rising.

Deku stick in any Zelda game.

Close. A level 100 Magikarp is WAY more useless.
Don't they turn into gyerados?

I would say the anal probe in Destroy all humans, useless.
I used it as much as I could, though.
Not a Level 100 one. It can't go up a level.

On topic though, any type of pistol in F3 fails.
Yes.

The Sniper Rifles in Mass Effect were useless, unless you got at least half the skill bar and one of the Spectre Sniper Rifles. Then, they became godly.

Also, Samus' Emergency Pistol in Metroid: Zero Mission. Yes, it was supposed to be awful (it could only stun Space Pirates), as you were meant to feel vulnerable after losing your suit, but still. At least it made you feel like a badass when you got your suit back though.
umm...what...i played through only with the sniper rifles/pistols, i found them to be very effective, although i found the assualt rifles to be more useless.

The Needler from the Halo series. It falls into the very small category of weapons marked: "Really cool in theory; totally useless in practice".
I never understood this. Why did everybody find the needler to be useless? I loved it. Yeah it's piss weak if you only shoot a few needles but if you pump a good amount into one target they explode. It's great against elites, plus you can easily find more ammo amongst the many grunt corpses.
I fully agree here. However, a large number of people seem to only play Halo multiplayer, where the needler is pretty useless because everyone else has a goddamn battle rifle and loves to flaunt the fact. I personally love the needler.

The weapon I really can't stand is the plasma pistol from the same series. Its standard fire is about as effective as throwing lit matches at someone, and spamming the mouse button/right trigger to get off a decent fire rate really gets old after a while. The charged shot is pointless, because while it takes the enemy's shields down, it also makes the weapon useless for the next few seconds, which is more than enough time for a shieldless enemy to find cover or just shoot you with a rocket. Finally, there are so many other weapons around, each one better than the plasma pistol, that the thing becomes utterly pointless. It's a useless weapon that serves only as a frustration to those who use it.
Overcharge plasma pistol, switch to battle rifle, aim for the head, dead in less than a second
Fair enough. However, the PP really only seems to be good in combination with other weapons. By itself it still sucks, and I think that was more the point of this thread. If you can't kill someone wit the weapon alone, it qualifies. OP, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here.

I think I have to go with the RPG from STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. Damned thing weighed 7 kilos, and each round for it was 3 kilos.

It was no better than the rifle grenades damage wise, and there was never any ammo for it.

I seem to recall an uzi or something in Farcry (looked like the Fantom gun from Goldeneye) that I very much equated to using a water pistol. But with less damage.

When I found one of those I thought "What the hell would I need this for? To take down a chopper?"

Wasn't so funny later in the game.

The needler was actually a pretty decent weapon during its stay in halo 2 when you could duel wield it. Effective at medium range, it far exceeded the capabilities of the shotgun in tight spaces at any range that exceeded direct hand to hand. During halos 1 and 3, yeah it was a horrible weapon.
Really?
I found it to be one of the strongest in the original halo, if I couldn't have a pistol or a sniper rifle I'd be carrying a needler in its place. Half a clip would easily kill a spartan in multiplayer and it had an awsome rate of fire plus the target lock thing it does.

I think I already made a thread on this subject... but you know what it was a couple months ago so I don't care.

Seriously I think the plasma pistol in Halo is pretty bloody useless unless you dual wield it or use it to EMP vehicles.

Except by that point, you had the bulldog six for your general explody needs. Sure, it weighed more, but the ammo for it actually existed in the game world, it had rapid fire of DOOM, and the ammo for it weight only half a kilo as opposed to 3 kilos/shot.

Hell with using it at all ever. My fists were stronger than that crappy pistol...
