I have a pretty good laptop that can play most of the current generations games, however the ones i want the most are exclusive to consoles. Im considering whether or not its worth buying an Xbox 360 for Fable 2 and/or buying a ps3 for the God of war series.

I'd really only be buying for the exclusives as most other games are also offered for PC and I prefer it on my more portable laptop.

I have fable 1 for the PC and really enjoyed the Morality feature in the game. Ive been waiting for a Fable 2 PC port since the game was released, but now 2 years later theres still no word on a release. No spoilers please..but is the game as good as im expecting it to be? Is it worth buying the entire system for it?

Ive heard only good things about the God of war franchise and might go this route if I dont go for fable 2. Then again both consoles are fairly old at this point, and I read many games look better on the pc these days, so I'd only be doing it for the exclusives. Its worth pointing out that my game play in fable 1 lead me to realize the joys of an evil bad ass, and whos more evil and bad ass than the Kratos?

Lastly I might buy neither the xbox or the ps3 and just dig around for good pc games. Im looking for quality RPGs with morality systems. Doing research Ive stumbled upon Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Mass effect 1 and 2, fallout 3, bioshock 1 and 2 and dragons age origins.

I havent played any of these games, so maybe i should just save money and go though these first on my pc? If I go this route which ones should I play first?

What would you guys do?
Recommendations?

No, it is not. Even considering buying a console for a single game is wasteful, not to mention stupid as hell.

In my opinion it's NEVER worth buying a system for just one game.
Even if cost of the game + system is the same as a new game nowadays?

Well, of course it depends on the game and system being bought.

But I quite like the Xbox for RPGs, especially considering Knights of the Old Republic is backwards compatible.

Depends on how much time you'll invest in to said game. If it has hundreds upon hundreds of hours worth of playability then I'd say yes. I bought my DS Lite just for Pokemon games and my PS3 was solely because I wanted MGS4 (MGS being easily my favourite game series). Best part is, you discover other games that are worthwhile after buying the console so you don't just wind up paying a bucketload of money and playing only one game, if that makes sense.

Depends on the game, for Fable? I don't think so, if you know a few more games you'd see yourself picking up, released or not release, maybe go for it?
Both PS3 and Xbox consoles all have great titles now, as compared to when the PS3 first came out.

Unless you have cash in your pocket burning a hole don't bother. However having said that I do have to plead guilty to doing it...

I Got the 360 Elite for $100 of regular price so I could snag Forza 3. Getting tired waiting for GT5 to come out. But I had extra cash on Boxing day due to a Christmas bonus.
Was it smart? No.
Would I have done it if it wasn't for the bonus? No.

I bought a GBA for Golden Sun... And yes, it was worth it. I say, if you have the money go for it. You'll probably find other games on the system to enjoy later on.

Depends on the game, I'd pay for my gamecube all over again just to have access to my Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time and Ocarina of Time: Master Quest bundle all over again. :|

My rule of thumb is if a system has at least ten games that are worthy of my money, then I will buy that system. This usually means I don't get systems at launch, but I do have a nice selection of great games when I do jump in.

The Witcher had a pretty cool morality system. I'd even go as far as saying there IS no black and white choices, only different shades of gray. Also the sequel has been announced so if you like it, you have a sequel to look forward to.

I don't know about Oblivion having a morality system, but Mass Effect, KOTOR series, and Fallout 3 (not sure about 1 and 2) have pretty clearly defined morality systems. Dragon Age has choices and a morality system, but I think they intentionally don't include a "you are good/evil" stat or whatever you want to call it.

Short answer no

long answer nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~

No srsly I bought a PS3 and all I had to play on it was MGS4, was a blast for awhile till PSN failed hardcore with MGS multiplayer and it collected dust till something promising came out. Which never did so I traded it back into GS for a ton of DS and 360 games.
