Would a Mass Effect Movie work??

Make a movie about the first contact war and sure.

That's a brilliant idea! Although I think they should try and work Garrus into it somehow. Maybe his father fights in the war or something.

Actually, making Saren serve as a partial protagonist might do wonders for the story. It would give some excellent motivation for his distrust and dislike of humanity. If the film makers could follow both a human protagonist (say Ash Williams grandfather or something) and Saren as the Turian protagonist you could get a really great movie that sets up the back story. It runs the risk of being a bit jumpy or maybe lacking direction but if done well it would work beautifully. It wouldn't even conflict with the timeline too because Saren was still a Turian grunt at the time.

No, mainly because the movie is based solely around the choices the player makes. I can be a cruel bastard and pick nothing, but renegade choices while the guy next to me could make nothing, but paragon choices, leading to a rather inability to please both sides. It can't be done on the main plot itself.
