Would a person who has already been spoiled on Bioshock still enjoy it?

Loses the scary onces the shotgun chases away the dark...and you get use to the dark...so much dark...

Unless you have some sorta fear of say...drowning...or water...its not scary

Story and atmosphere are great, gameplay is repetitive and dull. Still, I'd recommend getting it though, worth playing through at least once.

It's a half decent game.

Try not to let the inevitable hype wave blind you. People will scream at you about how mindblowing the storyline is. Honestly. It's pretty much a "What a tweest!" moment. It also makes a bad habit of trying to trick the player and not the player Character. Which irritates the hell out of me.

A lot of people will tell you not to buy bioshock 2. This is because it lacks the aforementioned "What a tweest!" moment. The overall story is on par. It still seems to be trying to trick the player and not the player character however it doesn't feel quite as noticable.

Not to mention the gameplay itself is about a million times more fun. The multiplayer is a tact on pile of shit however.

There is no way to really spoil this story as it can be seen from space, the twist is so obvious. But I enjoyed it and I still replay it from time to time. So it's still good.

It's not an RPG and it's not scary, but yes, you'll probably enjoy it. Don't play Bioshock 2, though. It's shit.

Bioshock 2 wasn't that bad, it just paled in comparison to the first. I enjoyed some of the new mechanics, and the story held it together while still poking a few plot holes due to the first game.

But still, Bioshock was a far better experience.

It's overrated, but it's fun. Go for it if you're interested, I mean, the story is pretty good, not omgsodeep but it's entertaining.

Posting this for relevance.

I certainly would - I've had plenty of endings spoiled for me, yet I still love the media for which the endings have been spoiled.

Look, the story is like Half-Life 2, in that it's overhyped but happens to be part of a really solid game (it also uses a similar way of telling the backstory by showing a lot of little things, like newspapers and logs, which is either good or bad depending on how much you explore). That said, the twist in it does sort of mean you get a lot less by knowing what's coming (though the acting up till then is powerful enough to still be enjoyable).

However, the gameplay holds up rather well. It's either really fun or extremely atmospheric.

If you're interested in the gameplay, it might be a good idea to check out the other shooter 2K released around that time with a similar idea of giving the protagonist weird powers to survive a semisandbox world: The Darkness.

It is not an rpg... But, I would argue the experience is so memorable because of the atmosphere, not necessarily the narrative (which is not terribly nuanced). So, yep, sure is worth it.

I still replay it once in a while.
It's a stylish fun game, not scary, creepy sometimes, but i love the retro underwater vibe.
And Andrew Ryan is awesome.

It's a great game. It's a toss up over which one is more of an RPG, Call of Duty multiplayer or Bioshock though, so don't expect an RPG. Its not scary really: More dark. It's a fascinating setting, and the story draws deeply from Ayn Rand and the idea of Objectivism, so if you know a little about those things, then it will probably be very satisfying. Odds of being dissapointed are low.

Also, in my opinion, Bioshock 2 was great, consider getting it as well. The gameplay is a sizable step up and the story is equally good. However, by most people math, great gameplay, equally good storyline and setting plus a 2 at the end of the name equals a horrible game by most peoples math.

Yes, I had spoilers before I played, and games don't seem to care for tradgedy so no matter what you're playing you can probably assume that at some point in the story the villain dies.
Also, no it is not scary in the slightest.
Oh, and I almost forgot, yes it's amazing.

Just because the twist might've been spoiled for you doesn't mean the whole game is ruined, the draw of the game is the atmosphere and narrative as well as the gameplay (Which is just on-par by my standards, but that's not why I love it) if it's on sale I suggest buying it immediately.
