Would it bother you at all, if the person you are currently with, believed that your lack of faith will send you to burn in Hell?

Wha...?

I think I get what you're saying, and I'm correct in that, then no, it wouldn't bother me at all.

How can we say anything if we don't know exactly what the OP is talking about?

If the criteria that your SO believes will get people to burn in Hell for all eternity, makes you part of the 'damned to hellfire' elect crowd in their view?
What?

Maybe? Expand on this.
Is your name based on the Forgotten Realms books?

I can honestly say I can't understand what the hell you're talking about. Not the issue, I can't decypher your phrasing.

What are you talking

are you asking if the christans/catholics feel bad about saying that anyone not believing what they do will be burned. Because that's what I deciphered.

Sweet lord. No grammar problems and yet it makes no sense...

I think what he meant to say was, would it bother you if you fit the criteria in order to go to the warm toasty place instead of the glowy happy place for whatever religion your significant other (i'm assuming that is what SO means) believes.

A more condensed version would be: Are you bothered if your partner thinks your going to hell?

And i suspect the answer you'll get will be mostly either "I'm sure it'd bother him/her more than me given i don't believe in that crap" or "I'd never date anyone with those sorts of beliefs anyway"

Thus i'm going to take the middle ground of wondering why someone would date someone they think is going to hell? I mean i'm fairly certain in most religions associating with such a person would make you their room mate in the warm and toasty afterlife.

I'd also like to add a quote - "I know i'm going to hell, but at least it's warm and i have friends there".

No, if I loved her I don't think it would matter what she thinks would happen to me once I die, I'm an Atheist so I don't even believe in an afterlife, but that aside I think life is for living. Not for worrying what happens to you when you die.

Much better.

So...tell me, have you pulled a Darwin?

Now, for real, that would suck ass, and that's a measure of disrespect right there. I'm not in anyone's shoes but I would tell my significant other that she is not so significant anymore.

depends, if they wanted me to become religious, repent fr my sins, prey for my soul and banged on about it all the time then yes and i would probably end up leaving them for it. if it was the occasional 'you are so going to Hell' i'd say 'yeah, i know, might as well make it worthwhile'.
