Would you be friends with one of your siblings.

(Searched, thought I should make a thread to celebrate the upcoming new year.)

This is just something I've been thinking about, regarding my brother and I. The fact is were the complete opposite of each other. Example. I like games, he doesn't, I wear jeans and T-shirts he wears tracksuits. I could name more through examples but that would take to long. So with those examples in place I've always thought that if he wasn't my brother and I just knew him as a stranger, then we probably wouldn?t be friends. In other words we wouldn't get along with each other.

So with the introduction out of the way, do you think that if your sibling/s weren?t related to you and you just knew them by name (like they shared the same class with you in school.) Would you be friends, or rather could you be friends?

Note: for those who are a lonely child, then try to use another family member as an example. Like a cousin.

I like to see my sister as a friend in personality. Shes an awesome character and i love her to bits but i never really classed her as a mate. There is always something in the back of my mind that screams "SISTER"

I wouldn't be friends with any of my family if I wasn't related, as I tend to shy away from strangers anyway.
Although I do get along well with my sister anyway, I wouldn't talk if we weren't related.

Well maybe my older bro and sis. If the other three weren't related we'd probably never meet. The one born after myself is roughly 8 years younger.

Probaly not, my sister and I have no mutual interests and sometimes don't get along not to mention shes four years younger than me so I probaly wouldn't be interested in befriending her.

I have older brother and a younger sister. My brother is two years older, yet I'm not friends with him, nor do I see us ever being that close. My sister and I used to hate each other, but we get along quite well now. I don't know if I'd call her a 'friend' though (my friends are people I hang out with often).

Yes, I'd probably be a friend of my sister if we weren't siblings. We both like reading, gaming etc...

Hardly.

I was a goth in high school. My sister was captain of the cheerleader squad.

I am an inverted academic. She is an extroverted social duchess.

I am passive. She is assertive.

I have an ounce of humility. She is an entitled twat.

I'm great friends with my sister she is 19 and I'm 15 we have a lot of mutual interests and get along well, that is when we are not trying to bludgeon each-other to death.
