Would you be friends with Yahtzee, if you met him in real life?

In short: No
In long: Hell no.

I rather watch from afar then, he wouldn't like me and I wouldn't like him.

Yes, because Yahtzee seems the kinda friend you can just sit on a couch and just hang out with, interacting only when necessary. Mellow, not needing to go out and party and get loud & rowdy.

Most likely not, i don't know why but something tells me we would not get along, no matter how he really is outside of his videos.

His cynicism and levels of bastardness are kinda high and that'd make things fun but his persona in the real world is probably a lot more toned down than he shows on Zero Punctuation.

If Yahtzee is what he acts like from the short snippets outside of ZP, I'd imagine I could be good friends with him.

But seeing as I don't actually know what he's like, I couldn't be sure.

Perhaps, if his wit in real life matched his ZP personae. But since I don't know him, I can only go by ZP. I tend to be blunt, sarcastic and callous, so if it matched, it's possible we'd get along. Whether or not we'd hang out beyond bumping into each other at a pub or something, I'm not sure.

Based upon the impression I get of him (in videos and the Washington Zero Punctuation) I'd say no, he seems too openly arrogant for me to get alone with; the kind of person who acts like their opinion is more valid/important than yours.

It'd be more realistic for me to try to befriend some of the other staff who live in Raleigh/Durham/somewhere in NC, given that I live in NC. Would I befriend Yahtzee if y'know, it was plausible we'd meet? Can't say, never met the guy. A few clips on the internet don't equate to knowing someone, thus it's impossible to tell if I would or not. I don't give a toss one way or the other, just another person.

Never really understood the "must meet X, they're famous" mentality. Aye, they're famous, and you know nothing about who/how they really are. Not to mention, they care about as much about you as you care about random strangers you pass on the way to work.

We would be distant friends and nothing else, with the only thing in common would be a love for video gaming. The genres I cannot stand, FPS and Western RPG, he seems to love more than anything. The genres I love, RTS, fighters, and JRPG, he wishes would not have existed in the first place.

Basically, he would be the colleague that I would turn to whenever a new FPS or Western RPG is coming out to see what he thinks about them. He would be the right friend for that because it seems like he has played every single last one of them in the 15 years the genre existed.

Beyond that, we would get into too many arguments about gaming in general to be any closer. We would not agree on everything. Whenever a certain genre tries to improve itself, he would cry foul. Whenever he complains about games being too easy and him wanting a challenge, I would say Demon's Souls and watch him squirm. If he complained about nostalgia ruining gaming, I would remind him that it always existed.

ZP is a show and I am pretty sure he is not like that all the time in real life. what yu see on ZP is frustration pouring out of him over what games could be and often fail to achieve.
I for one thing I would prolly get along pretty well with him. I am an utter smartass as well and I have pretty thick skin. so he could bounce jokes about america off me all day and it would not phase me.

Well, all of my friends are girls, so unless he's one I don't think we'd hit it off.
