Im thinking of getting a new laptop and a friend told me about the Dell outlet store

anybody ever ordered anything from it?
and on a more general note, would you get a refurbished laptop if the price was about 25% cheaper?

I brought a refurbished laptop before, and it messed up. Took weeks to get it repaired, and then it messed up again. Got it refunded in the end. So I wouldn't personally recommend it.

So long as it's refurbed at the factory and not a 3rd party company, then sure. I actually know a few people that have snagged stuff from Dell's outlet site and a quite hapy with their purchases.

No. I've never found laptops useful as computers, and the batteries always "rot" so they aren't mobile for long enough to be useful.

I've never had a Dell though

yeah this.

heck i just bought my gma one a couple months back, it was 400 dollars cheaper and its working like a charm, 17.3" hp laptop with a triple core and a dedicated graphics card for only 500 bucks.

as long as its a good provider, i would suggest it, as they know what they are doing and generally have a decent enough refund/trade in program.

Nothing all that wrong with alot of refurb labtops. Just don't expect to be getting a new battery with it. Second priority is the hard drive usually, if it hasn't been replaced. To alot of places refurbished means they reinstalled windows and cleaning off the screen and keyboard.
