Would you donate Sperm?

While I gaming just now, I was watching a TV show out of the corner of my eye, with children (now adults) who had been conceived with sperm from a spermbank, searching for their original fathers. When you donate sperm you do so anonomously I believe, but with the technology today, it is still possible to find almost anyone.

And that got me thinking, if you had good quality semen and was paid to donate, would you do it regardless of any possible consequences? Why would(n't) you?

And if the women are feeling left out: If you were at a stage in your life where you reached a certain age without having a boyfriend/husband, would you consider artificial insimination with someone else's sperm?

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that there could be a little "me" running around out there, I didn't know about.

uhh, sure? I don't see any problem with it, although would be pretty awkward if someone tracked you down and said that I was their father.

I'm not sure. Probably not, as I'd like to keep track of how many people I add to the overpopulated world.

How much would I get paid? Just so I know it's worth the effort of zipping up and leaving my bedroom for once.

No

If any little children out there are born from half of my DNA, I'm going to be the one raising them.

No. I don't think I could live with the idea I have offspring running around somewhere being raised by some other family, and they don't know I exist, and all I got out of it was a wank and $50.

Hell yeah. Somehow I doubt anyone would accept it, but sure. I think it would be awesome to find your sperm baby sometime through life, particularly since I couldn't care about babies/most kids. Teenagers and up are much more interesting, I find.

Can I give a fake name?

Yay! I've finally tracked down my sperm-bank father and his name is...Gary Glitter? Dammit.

Being a woman I wouldn't feel comfortable with receiving a stranger's sperm. It could be some dirty hobo off the street. Just no. Makes me feel dirty. If I'm going to have children it would be with a boyfriend/husband. And if I dodn't have one then none at all I guess. I'd rather adopt.

What does it really matter? Alot of donated sperm isn't even used and what significance do your gene's really play in a family anyway? It's just a genetic guideline for them to follow, it's not cloning so... Meh.

PS: Come to think of it, looking at your description, for me the $50 is probably just a bonus.
