Would you give up your best friend/lover for a new life?

I'd do it. My memories would be gone anyway so once I've done it I wouldn't be able to care anymore, and thus it wouldn't really bother me. And on top of that I'll have superpowers. So doing it logically means something that is more beneficient than simple memories with a friend/lover whom I might not be freinds/lovers with in the future anyway.

Doubt it. Money means nothing, and it means even less once your dead. Even if I have other friends, my best friend (though I don't know who specifically would qualify as my best friend) is important to me. Hell, all my friends are important to me. I wouldn't want to lose the memories of any of them, because they are all awesome, and once I'm dead, all that's left would be those memories, other's memories, of me. That's all that really matters.

So why do you ask? Did a genie actually make you this offer?

Well, as long as she didn't forget me, I would just explain what was happening to her, and tell her to come and find me afterwards. That way, I would forget, but I would have new memories, and SUPERPOWERS!!!
your avatar looks strangely like scott pilgrim,is he?
Sure is! That's the 8-Bit Scott, from the game.

Totally. There is no doubt in my mind. It's not that my life is bad or anything... it's just that if I could change my life I would do it in an instant. Sure, friends are friends... but I would like to forget some things from this past year or so...

Also, did this remind anyone else of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?

Hmmm... Yes. I'd trade my bestfriend, Mainly because she just got married and I pretty much haven't/can't talk/hang out any more. Which makes me a sad panda because, we've been friends since Grade 3, and now we don't talk at all. I'd trade that for anything really.

I'd do it in a heartbeat, I haven't had a girlfriend sense middle school and I'll probably never see my BFF again...

Damn I'm lonely...
ur not the only one my good comrade,

ive always been lonely in my life, and since i moved, my bests friends live in another country, so honestly i think i would do the change, but being filthy rich wont bring me happyness anyways, ur just rich thats all.

Well I'm moving away and will rarely ever see my best friend again, so oh well. We never really talk anymore anyway.

You know, this doesn't seem like a very fitting question for the hermits of the Escapist.

No. I'd hate to be a spoiled billionaire. I care for my friends and all, but honestly, being spoiled like that would be even worse than losing all the stuff I have with them.

yes. That's really an easy one. I gave up my best friend of 14 years over an argument over 25 bucks. for a billion I'd give up pretty much anyone.

I can't imagine losing the memories of the man I love just to change my life.

I'd rather do what I'm doing right now: moving and changing my life with him by my side. :)

I would do it and convince myself that fate will bring us back together, and if not I'd have a money bath to make myself feel better.
