For stuff like music on iTunes, most people get it somewhere else because it's a fucking ripoff. For example, in the UK, most songs are 79 or 99p, but when I was in the US I found the same stuff for 79c, which means the UK market is losing out. Either way, it's way too fucking expensive, and the costs are nowhere near justifiable, since almost none of that goes to the artists themselves. If it was lowered, even to 50p per song, a metric shit-ton of piracy would disappear, because it would be much more accessible and less of a rip-off. Lower still, and piracy would almost vanish; almost, of course, because there are always going to be bastards, no matter what price it's at. They're the same kind of people who paid 1c or pirated that charity bundle where you set your own price for 5 or so games.
On the topic of movies, I've watched a couple online, when I have no way of getting out to see them. However, if I like it, I'll buy a hard copy as soon as I can get it, and even if not, my mum will probably end up buying it because that's the kind of thing she does. I've never, and never would, however, pirate games.~ (.___. )
