Would you hit a girl?

Pretty much what the title implies; would you hit a girl? Not as in beat your wife, but if a girl was physically abusing you, as in punching/scratching you and causing you actual pain.

Was having a discussion with a friend of mine about a third friend whos girlfriend was actively beating him, and because of this stigma around hitting girls he never raised a hand to protect himself.

To be honest, if a girl was actually hitting me and trying her best to beat me up i would punch her in the noggin without thinking about it after exhausting other venues like talking and holding.

Restrain her, yes, but not punch, as I'd feel too bad about it, as girl's are generally more fragile and easier hurt than boys.
That said, if she had a knife or something sharp, then yes I would.

If the girl was hitting me first, I'd probably try to backhand her, I wouldn't punch her seeing as I would despise such a thing. My mind belongs in a different age.

If she was attacking me I would fight back. Probably just a punch in the stomach though. I don't like violence period. Whether its a girl or boy I'm retaliating against doesn't matter to me, if I get attacked, I'll defend myself.

Absolutely. Women and men deserve to be treated equally. I would never hit a person unless they were attacking me first, but if they are going to swing a punch at me I am going to respond in kind. The worst thing is that some girls think that they are allowed to abuse their guy friends because they are female, which I find sexist. Nope, if you hit me you should have the brain power to expect me to swing back. Crying foul that what I did was wrong after you were attempting to physically hurt me seems weak.
