Totally... But I wouldn't let them play as much as me, I would probably cut down on gaming anyway if I had kids... I definitely wouldn't let them do what I do and juggle games, I'd make them finish what they start...

I also would never buy them crap shovelware games...

Proud.

I'd support them if they wanted to go to anything like tournaments, competitions or if they wanted careers in gaming.
Yeah, it would be a great thing to do as a family.

Yeah, I want my kids to be huge nerds, too. That would be the single most awesome thing in the history of forever, having nerdy kids to play games with.

^THIS^

Also it would be kind of hypcritical of someone who has played games so much to not let their children play when ever they wanted. Anyway generally the way it works with kids is that if you take something away from them they want to play it. If you make a big deal out of them playing it they will play it more. If you try and use it as a rewards service they will do a half arsed job and still play the game. I'd hope that my children would be smart enough to play in some kind of moderation and still live out a decent social life etc.

But yeah if my kids played games I'd be a proud parent and buy them all Press "X" to NOT die t-shirts like their dad has.

Yes. I think that video games are good for a child's development. It teaches them to stick at things, and to keep working at it until they find achievement. It in some cases can teach them morality and that actions can have consequences. Also, and probably most importantly, video games are a social thing that can help build bonds between family members or friends. So yes, I can't see much bad in them, other than they can become a bit "time-wasting" when it comes to needing to do more important things such as homework or chores around the house.

It's going to be a great plot twist if my daughter grows up as anything other than a nerd in our house. As a responsible parent though, I'll certainly monitor what she plays. Not restrict, unless I feel she's mature enough.

But she's 14 months now. She's excited about EVERYTHING right now.

eff no, I would probably let them play for like 1 or 2 hours, then after they'd better do something else.

People are overrated. I, for one, hate just about everyone, and would feel sorry for my children if they were socialites.

No. There was a time when I played games far too much, like an addiction. However, I would let them play games as long as they spent more time in the real world than in virtual worlds.

Yes and no. I would want them to have other motor skills and not to see this guy:
as a positive role model. But at the same time they need an outlet for stress, violent urges, or whatever. But still.

I'd force them to play hour after hour of terrible games until they learn moderation the hard way.

Your kidding right? I'm a avid gamer, and have been gaming since I was a lil' boy, and I have an amazing life, loads of friends and am very, very far from being fat!
