Would you like to see Yahtzee review more genre's?

I personally would like to see him review Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne.

It's a JRPG with turn based combat, but it's also really hard and really good. It would be an interesting review to say the least. Yahtzee should probably request to review that game because if the escapist pays for it, they would have bought him a game that costs $220 USD sealed. Even if he opens it it's still worth $100 USD.

I agree with leaving him be. He has reviewed games of a stripe which I would make gagging noises if you suggested I try them, and still loved his points good and bad. (I have a distinct dislike of FPS games, for example).

It kind of boils down to not just what he's asked or what's hot, but if something is good or bad enough to set a fire under your muse then for god's sakes get to a microphone and don't hold back. Kind of like how its hard to study something you have no interest in. Remember that kid who was in Nirvana when you did a unit on Dinosaurs or Egyptology in elementary? Much like that. When you give a sh*t for good or bad the work produced is just better.

I think he has a pretty well rounded course of game genres. So I'd leave him alone.

i think we should let him review what he wants. its easier for him to review a game he actually wants to review than one that he's being forced at gunpoint by incesent badgers! all the reviews he's done of his own choosing so far have been good so why start asking the question of expanding...next you'll be asking him to knock out a review every other day!

It really doesn't matter what anyone says in this thread since what Yahtzee reviews is between him and his editors, and he's pointed out he doesn't listen to suggestions.

That said, I think there should be a pool on what he'll review next, but maybe I just have a gambling problem.

I laughed out loud over that, and I have nothing against the Pope. Although he does look suspiciously like John Ratzenberger from Cheers. Come to think of it, I've never seen them together...

For all but the Orange Box I've not actually played a single one of the games he's reviewed. It hasn't stopped me laughing out loud at my monitor like a crazy person though. It really does not bother me what he reviews, as long as he keeps doing it.

He could review himself and I bet it would still make me laugh.

I'd prefer he review things as he does now...most things that prima facie I'd hate anyway...so it's fun for me to hear the piss taken out of games I'd rather not waste my life on and the games that like them.

I mean they are short and not visually spectacular so it can't be too difficult to crap out 2 a week. maybe like wednesday he does his rant on new popular games, and like fri or sat he spits out a rant on a classic, like maybe the VC releases or Live Arcade games...

You have to PLAY the game before you review it. Not to mention WRITE the review. There are alot of WORDS in there, you know. Its not like he spends 7 days on the video alone.
