Would You Make a Good Soldier?

I realized that if I were a real soldier and acted like I did in multiplayer, I would die fairly quickly in real battle. Although I tend to be a very good teammate, I usually do things that are bullet sponge worthy. Such as, if I see three of the opposition, I'll tend to "Rambo" it knowing that I can probably take out two. Even though I'll die, I know that it will make it easier for teammates to go in and take an objective. My K/D ratio in games tend to be a little shoddy but usually I'll be an xp machine due to teamwork. In real battle though, I think I'd get my ass handed to me if I were to behave like this.

So guys (and gals), would your style of multiplayer actions make you a good soldier?

I am THE team player. I follow orders in zeal, and communicate very well. Plus, I have a damn good eye. (Shoots real guns) :p

Yea, i'd be great. I could pick up the dead and use them as meat shields. Then i could take the heads of my fallen foes and stuff them with grenades. Imagine that coming flying towards you... I'd be a mother fucking super soldier i tell you.

Doubtful, since I don't play multiplayer online shooters. That, and I'm not so good at blindly following morally questionable orders.

In my sole experience of ARMA II, I ran around in circles, getting lost while my squad completed all the objectives, then missed a shot at some unsuspecting enemy who then shot me dead.

So, if ARMA II is more true to life than say, DOOM, I'd be a rubbish soldier. Thank god the real pros are out there to do the job right.

Are you one of those multiplayer Wizards? Like those absolute freaks that leave you with your head scratching?

in real life you wouldn't act like you do in multi-player. that's what basic training is for. so you know how not to die. the military say something around the lines of "Good solders aren't born, they're trained."

"SIR WHAT IS THAT BEHIND YOU SIR" Then run the other way when he turns around

I don't realy play online PvP. A mix between tecnical issues and that i prefer to play singelplayer since im not a competetive person. But if i tried to fight like i do on singelplayer (i would do the same thing in multiplayer) i would end up dead in no time.

Only if I was the soldier carrying around the sniper rifle, sneaking through the bush of the jungle. Sitting in one position for days, moving slowly, lining up the perfect shot...

I'd be awesome. As a ground-troop, not so much.

physical yes...I'm tall as shit but just pretty skinny, i've never shot a gun before but that is a very small part of being in the army i'm tidy and sanitary. I'm pretty good at cod if that means anything and I have no disorders or physical or mental problems whatsoever..... so yeah maybe

No. Beyond my utter disgust at and probable inability to shoot someone else fatally, I am not fit. At all.

And I don't play many shooters, so I can't judge from there either.

I could go for being Field Medic, though! :D

I agree. I think I would actually make a good soldier in real life with training, etc. However, I was more curious to if your style of play would translate well in real life.
