The only problem with naming a girl 'Revan' will make people that have never played KotoR think you misspelled 'Raven' on the birth certificate.
which is why i would just let them think that, as the explanation is much more embarrassing :)

If a video game character happened to have the same name I was considering for my child, then yes. Yes I would.

Of course!
But any partner would have to agree, ........ maybe if I slipped the name past as a real suggestion.

But possible names would be,
For a boy
Miles - From Sonic
Gordon - From Half life.
Guile - Although probably only for a middle name....

For a Girl
Noel - Blazblue.
Clare - Resident Evil.

Although there's still time for new characters to impress me enough to make it onto the list.

Well, certainly not any.. 'extravagent' names, for lack of a better word. Simple ones like William, Louis or Francis would do nicely, since they seem like ordinary names; they just have an extra meaning for you. Stuff like Kratos, Altaïr and Sephiroth is more suited for a middle name, since those can easily be covered up with their initials.

Hehe maybe not a game character, but i have always said that i hold claim over the middle names if i ever have children. My son would take my first name as his middle... because it's tradition. my daughter on the other hand would have the middle name Integra after Integra Fairbooks Windgates Hellsing, because well i really like the name.

Yes, I would name a kid Alistair. It's an actual name and I really like it. It sounds cool. Just say it. Alistair. I would change my name to Alistair gladly. That name fuckin' rocks.

Get over here Dante! Or perhaps.... Kain. I should not be allowed to name children.
What the fuck is wrong with Dante?

I wish "Tali" was a real name so maybe that. This doesn't have anything to do with the character in question, I just like the name.
Tali is a real name. I know a girl who's name is Tali.

I was about to say that "Terra" would make a GREAT girls name, and I could imagine myself naming a daughter that, but then I realised that it sounds a bit too like "Terror" which may get her picked on
GODDAMN IT, I was gonna say Terra until I read that!

Meh, whatever. There's always (Star Ocean 3's) Sophia.

(If it's a boy, however...I can't suggest a game character's name for a boy. Ugh.)

My friend is naming his kid Killswitch Engage, so I have to one-up him. So its either We Were Promised Jetpacks or Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

As for a video game character, personally id rather name my kid something cool rather than something boring. I was thinking something from Kingdom Hearts, like Sora, Riku or Kairi, but thatd make me the biggest Weeaboo on the planet( and I hate weeabooos). Then theres Vincent, which is actually pretty decent, but more common. Even Link would be cool.

Screw it, im just going to random character select on Tekken and use that.

Perhaps a middle name, I doubt I ever would for their first name.
Same here, if I really wanted to indulge. Or if the game character in question had a normal name. Though I must admit, I find it tempting to name a boy Samus even though we all know Samus is a girl... Well maybe save it for the middle name...

I have considered naming my child Peter Phoenix (LN withheld), but it's debatable. Incidentally, Peter is not a video game name; I just like it. Phoenix is from the Ace Attorney series.

If I ever have a daughter, I plan on naming her Aeris, but only because I like the name. I could care less about the character.

I'm among the 'maybe as a middle name' crowd. Growing up with an unusual name (and having a brother whose name is apparently incredibly difficult for people to read and pronounce), I have a lot of sympathy for kids whose parents name them things that are either very pop-culture (so video game character names, TV character names), made-up out of thin air, or impossible to pronounce (names from other languages, including Japanese and Russian).
