Yeah, as long as I wasn't naming my kid something crazy. I think I'd draw the line at "Guybrush."

EDIT: I think I'd lean very strongly towards Riddick.
Riddick would be a badass name!

Never, because giving a kid a stupid name is just cruel, no matter how "cool" it sounds. Also, he would have to live with the fact that he was named after a videogame character.

I think the only people that kids should be named after are friends or relatives*, and I think people I know would be insulted if I chose a videogame character instead of any of them.

*provided you are naming your kid after someone, rather than choosing something that just sounds nice

I'd name my girl Aerith or Aeris, it is a pretty name :)
Uh, are you sure you want to name her after a character that met a horrible end? I mean, not superstitious or anything, but when she asks who/why you named her that....well, the explanation might be awkward?
"I named you after a favorite videogame character of mine."
"Oh, and who is she?"
"Uh, well, see there was this ancient race of peopel called...uh "Ancients" and there was this mad scientist..."
Or you could skip straight to the
"You were impaled by an impossibly long sword"

As for me, I'd name my daughter Kratos.
But give her a nice middle name like Cortanna or soemthing. So she can use that instead.

I've considered naming my child Thor or Odin. They aren't necessarily game character names, but the characters have appeared in games.
huh Norse gods...cool

OP: I thought lilith from borderland.
Actually the name "Lilith" is from the Jewish mythology, you might want to read this.

For his 18th birthday (or whenever I'd trust him with them) I'd get him some ulaks, the knives Riddick uses in the games.

Yes. I've already bestowed the middle name "Price" on my nephew, and "Tali" on my niece as her first name. Dunno what I'll call my child, assuming I have one.

HAHAHAHA, no.

I wouldn't want to torture my kid by naming them after a video game character.
I was thinking 90% of the names you could give your kid would probably result in an ass-kicking at school.

Of course, Gordon is probably safe, but anything patently from a game....

Hal, Clark, Bruce, Jon, Dianna.

Cookies for whoever can get them! NOTE: Not really game names.
Clark, Bruce, Dianna...

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman??

OT: I would definitely name my kids after a game character. Most kids hate their name no matter what it is, so you may as well have a laugh with it. It's better than going for the twee names of the moment.
I'm even more encouraged to do so since naming my kitten Yuffie. Lots of people comment on what a pretty and cute name it is.

Correct! Cookies for you.
I'll admit, I wouldn't really do this to kis (Cept for Hal, Clark and Jon but those names are just awesome on their own) but it would be the epitome of Nerdom.

Only if the character actually had a realistic name. I wouldn't want to burden my child by naming him something stupid for my own amusement.
Why have children if not for your own amusement?
