hell no - I already have games that are "genuinely fun and enjoyable" that don't slather me in more adverts than I would get trying to watch a freeview channel. Sure I paid some money for them, but at least I've retained my soul. I only watch TV occasionally (with fiends, whilst eating, say) because of the adverts - there's no way I'd subject myself to the sort of overt advertising you're talking about on a regular basis.Liberaliter said:Would you play a game for free if -
The first time you load it up you had to watch an hour of commercials which you can't skip - but after that you don't have to see that hour of commercials again.
You have to watch 5 minutes of commercials every time the game loads (no matter how small and every time you play)
After every level or mission you have to watch 10 minutes of commercials, every time.
And when playing a scrolling banner at the bottom of the screen will advertise on and off for a couple of minutes at a time, every time you play.
Would you play a game like this? Remember it is free, you can keep it forever and it is genuinely fun and enjoyable.
Wait, Prototype had adverts? Lol, never noticed, never cared - the perfect advertising (from my perspective ;P) See, inline, unobtrusive, situationally suitable ads I can live with to the extent that it doesn't affect my gaming at all. Start interrupting play (or delaying it!) with bullshit video ads and I'll be uninstalling that ap faster than... well, than it would have taken me to launch it. (5 minute ad on startup? Retarded...)Ranorak said:No, No I would not.
I can live with the ads in [Prototype] cause they seem real in a city. But not outside the game, and definitely not so long.
