That sounds like a good concept, seeing it from a different viewpoint. Instead of the harsh struggles towards an ultimate victory and relief at being able to return home, it would be inital levity and easy victories pushing back to despair and retreats as the Allies pushed towards Berlin. It does sound a good concept, and I'd buy the game if it came out.

As much as anything, it'd be nice to start a level with the weapons you'd otherwise have to loot :D

I would if it wasn't about a hundred WWII games too late. The setting is so overdone now that it would be difficult for a concept that interesting to really stand out, and that's assuming that it's pulled off in a manner that is at all skillful, intelligent, or tasteful. I'd probably just look at the game and be intrigued by the idea behind it, but be too skeptical to actually try it.

Yeah, I'd play it. It'd be interesting to see WW2 from the other perspective. It'd be especially good if the story was mainly focused on the characters and their emotional struggles with the war and such.
I think it would be interesting to play a game where you know your side is going to lose no matter what you do.

I'd definitely play that, never been done before for sure.
If they could make it with a really good story, unlike most shooters, it'd be great.
If fantasy versions of WWII things count then "Valkyria Chronicles" sorta did this with a DLC pack with 4 missions( Cut-scenes as well.) with the Nazi army stand-ins the "Imperials" though I guess the OP meant Full length Story Campaign in which case I haven't heard of a game like that being made.

OT: I would really see a point to making a game like that would be unless they've had battles where the odds were against them and they over come them (though ultimately they'll lose the war)
you'd either have to make the game fight losing battle after battle with a few victories, only have the ones in thier favor as the majority or fabricate the truth(in which case why try to base it about them anyways.)which could possibly be considered post war propaganda?

I'd play it.

Would love to see a game from the German perspective, maybe create it in the same vain as 'All Quiet on the Western Front', that would be cool.

Yes of course if it was well written and delivered a unique experience, however...

...I'm still waiting for someone to make a WWII shooter that features the Australians/New Zealanders.

C'mon there's Tobruk, Kokoda, El Alamein and amny others.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the Australians the first to defeat both Germany and Japan on land?

That would be a very interesting game. The idea of a war game where you play as the other side and discover why they fought, because no army is in itself evil, they're just two groups of people led to believe or actually believe they're fighting for the right cause. Maybe that's what David Cage was talking about when he said he wanted to make a more emotional war game. I'd certinly play it.
