Would you REALLY survive a zombie attack?

That depends. If you mean "Could I fight off a single zombie?" Then....maybe. Again it depends on the nature and circumstances of the attack.

If you mean, "Could I survive the zombie apocalypse?" Then no. I mean, my options are either "die" or "kill about 98% of the population." Yeah. I'm rigging a bus with grenades and going out in a blaze of glory.

Let me put it this way...I would try my hardest to survive. But I would have an explosive device strapped to my body that's programed to detonate if I flatline (i.e. if zombies kill me). Basically, if I'm going down, I'm taking a few of those bastards with me.

Yeah same here.

The never tiring fast zombies like in 28 weeks who have super easy to infect normal humans virus (also spread by animals) is to much to confront normally, for me any way.

I know, from my gaming experiences, that I taste like chicken.

I always get eaten first. Knowing my luck, I'll be the one that subject zero chows down on first.

Hell yea!
I`m suprised that a lot of people talked about your weapons, i only have an iron pipe under my bed and a pair of blunt katanas, but i have a shitload of plans for survival, although they all get interrupted because i have to put myself in danger in order to save my girlfriend.

But me and my brother are getting ready for Z day, reading books about zombies, human mind, training and buying gear.

Yes, we take zombies seriuosly.

Sorry for bad grammar and spelling my english is not perfect.

If the initial infection is caused by seeding or some other widespread phenomenon, it's unlikely Id survive.

If it came down to fighting for survival, I think I'd have a chance. If I wasn't Subject Zero to begin with.

I would try. I can tell you if the outbreak lasts over a month I'd go insane and/or kill myself. My sinanity will be something like, go out into the zombies, take out as many as possible then suicide when either bitten or overwhelmed.

I've often wondered this, but I usually come to the conclusion of death.
I mean, be honest with yourself.
'Normal Shambling Zombies'? Perhaps for a few weeks, but their resilient.
'28 Days Later Zombies'? Break your spine, bend backwards, and kiss your ass goodbye.
In left4dead, I always wonder how the hell people would survive *at all*.
They're fast, their EVERYWHERE, they have multiple different kinds...
Also, how is the infection spread in their mythos? It can't be the usual way, since your always getting bit and torn at...
Maybe it's like 'Manitou Blood', a novel where vampirism is spread like AIDS.
You know, through sex.
By the way, you have sex BEFORE the transformation for that to happen.
No Zombiephiliacs.

I'd survive. Where I live it takes me about 3 minutes to get out into the countryside in a car.

i would try everything in my power to live, sure i would get emotional scares from loved one getting nommed on BUT,i would also gain a bitter hatred toward the zombies and would want to fulfill my revenge against them,if i did survive it though and everything would have to be pretty much be rebuild from scratch then at that point i would have a 95% chance of me committing suicide only to spare myself of the agony i will probably still be going threw. and if i was at a point if i knew i wasn't gonna make it threw to the end i would always save that one extra bullet for my head. and if i did decide not to kill myself ofter such a thing i would make as many offspring as i possibly could just so my genes of shear awesomeness can live on in my kids! and tell them the horrifying stories i would have for them (when their older and can handle it).and make a name for myself so my legacy could live on forever! but most likely i would die horribly before that would happen, but i would still have that slight chance to take my revenge.

Feh, at my school we had a zombie thing and I got snuck up on while I was eating. The thing is though, is that in the case of zombie apocalypse, I wouldn'thave ever been in that situation.

depends... if they had to feed on people and i got to my friends in time then yes, we'd jack a car and drive full speed to the north, i'm in canada and there are forests and stuff everywhere if you know where to go, if i managed to get to alberta i could steal enough oil to last forever just driving around, or if i went north i could get to the tundra pritty quick to. I think so long as they need to feed we could live off fish and water in the tundra long enough to outlast them.

Well, for a start, anyone who thinks they will have more bullets then zombies is delusional.

Now that that is out of the way. I don't think that real zombies will have that 'pack' mentality and/or collective conscience that various media hypes up. o_O

The mental stability aside, with an able body as well as calm and thorough thinking, you should be able to last quite a while.

As for supplies, non-perishable food, that is incredibly easy as at least half the things you would see on a supermarket shelf would last for months if not years unopened. Water is significantly harder to keep on the other hand, if it is not factory-purified it will likely stagnate. And would you -really- trust most open even tap water if it could spread whatever is eating the zombies? (Bad pun intended) =3

Weapons and survival... Guns? Ha! Couple of dozen bullets will do what? Kill a handful of them? Whoop-de-do. Lets be more realistic here, not everyone has or can get access to firearms, and without stockpiles of ammo they are useless at best. Sword and a decent outfit that is bite/scratch resistant? Better choice. Will you likely have a Sword? Doubtful. What else can you use? -Anything- Something long and blunt is good, Long and pointed is better, Long and bladed is better still. Just keep in mind that you will probably only need to actually kill zombies infrequently, mainly if you need to slink around for supplies and to see whats going on.

In short, will everyone survive? Heck no.
Will quite a few? Probably.

/endrant, wallotext crits you for over 9000 =3
I am sure that a bat would be much better than asword. Why? Because zombie inner juices wouldn't splatter everywhre as much with a bat. A sword cuts. The best thing to do is have a blunt object. Cutting a zombie more easily spreads infection. And you can get yourself with it as well.

Basically though I'd pull apart the dresser I'm sitting beside and use it for body armor. There's axes somewhere around here, I'd be able to get to one.

Chances are I would live a few months before dieing from simple starvation. I have enough guns and ammo but unless I can get some more people to band with me not sure how long I would really last once food supplies ran out. By that I mean I would need to make supply runs and me vs a lot of zombies does not really spell good things for me. I live far away enough from any real population to fear so my house getting overrun would not be any concern for me. Not to mention even if by some weird twist of fate they swarmed my house I would have already destroyed my staircase and I live on the second floor of my house anyway and I own a ladder. So no real harm done.

Until my glasses are either lost or out of prescription I feel as if I would do fine. I would mainly hide and attempt to stay away from them.

I am in an area that is not far from near-empty rural areas, plus I could get myself through day-to-day problems since I know how to use a gun and am (reasonably) healthy enough to be able to stay on the move. My problem would be that i'd probably be going it mostly, if not totally, alone, which could make things difficult.

Chances are i'd either die on the first day amidst the initial shock or I would be able to roam for weeks, months, or even years until there were no supplies left or the zombies were all gone.
