Ok, it seems people are doing it mainly because 'well, I'm dead either way'.

How about a twist on the OP, without wishing to hijack it...

Would you sacrifice yourself to save say, Europe, Australasia and the Americas?

If you had some miracle genetic strain and you were the only person who had the right makeup to defend against a new virus, but they had to kill you to harvest enough material to create the antivirus?

Turns out there's been outbreaks in America, France, and New Zealand, but they've locked down all international travel. So, the virus will spread slowly but uncontrollably unless you sacrifice yourself, but its some utopia where the government won't have you immediately carted off and killed.

I'd probably demand 24 hours of pure pleasure but then yes.

The object isn't to find some magic solution btw, its a simple would you die to save millions of people, even tho its a disaster that the human race could possibly come back from. Maybe once those continents had been scourged the human race could start to repopulate.

I'm already predicting a few 'well it'd probably be good for the world and humanity' posts already!

Yes, it can also be translated as "Who will police the police" and "If guards protect the people, who will protect the guards?".

I have other motives for such a nice guy that I am. If a meteor was coming I would either leave it to Chuck Norris or spend my last days (since I would die anyway) having a panic attack and then accepting my death since I wouldn't get to fall in love with somebody who loves me back, ever (I frequently fall in love but it is never requited, hence the Kaorin avatar).

I don't really know how I'd deal with it, as much as I used to think I was too different from anybody else to be a human being, my response to a meteor coming towards the Earth would be all too human, and ammonia soaked.

There's actually a meteor heading for earth that may hit Earth in 2036. It's not all that likely though.
