Anyone else get the feeling that Blizzard is rushing through the content patches for this expansion?
I kinda wish Blizzard would start rushing, because frankly they've been getting slower and slower since WOW's release and it's a bit pathetic.

One of the reasons I stopped playing for so long and only fairly recently came back to WOW.
But this is the 2nd content patch in less than 2 months.

Yeah that's exactly what I started to think. Funny. :)

Sounds interesting though. Variety is always good.

6.1 is as much of a content patch as 2.2 was.

OT: I'm still subbed (Mostly out of habit? I guess?) and barely, if ever, log into the game. I had high hopes for WoD, but it's just mind numbing busy work. Kinda like a mobile game I'm sitting down at my PC to play. Not really in my wheelhouse.

But then, like @Fappy, I'm just not really into the hardcore raiding anymore. I don't have the time, nor the patience, nor the inclination to invest either said time or patience into progression stuff these days.

Kind of makes me wonder why I'm even still buying these things. Probably habit.

As for the patch itself, scaling dungeons sounds pretty cool and I'll give it a shot once it launches.

I unsubbed last night. Will come back if 5 man Mythic dungeons are great, and I'm not doing anything else more compelling. Mostly I just need a break from MMOs.

Genre needs a fucking revitalization in the worst way. No offense to WoW, which is clearly a legendary iconic title in the annals of gaming at this point, but a fucking 10 year old game should not still be the leading game in town. If it is, there's been a catastrophic shortfall of innovation and evolution in the genre.

I don't really consider selfie cams and garrison missions much in the way of major content.

It's a good idea to not think of it as a genre. A MMO can be ANY genre of gameplay. This genre flexibility helps encourage developers to not compete with WoW.

The "MMO" part of MMORPG is a format, or context, for a genre of game. Because we think of MMOs as a genre and WoW dominates the "MMO genre", we're led into thinking that Black Desert Online will be the next potential serious competitor to WoW, not so much because it's also an MMO but because it's a similar type of MMO to WoW.

There's no reason whatsoever that hundreds or thousands of players can't inhabit the same game space in any game genre.

Oh I'm well aware. Despite the near infinite possibilities promised by "massively multiplayer", all we ever get are WoW clones. Generally poorly executed ones.

They're too costly to be inventive. They've gotten themselves trapped in this vicious cycle of ridiculously high player expectations, massive development costs, and stagnant copycat game-play.

It's going to take a very brave publisher/developer to break that pattern.

Meh. I'm kinda excited, but I just don't have that last little bit of motivation to get in after I cancelled right before 6.1. Besides, I just got back into SWTOR and I don't even have time for that!

Working 12-hour days 13 days straight can't be good for my healthy.
