So I was browsing Kotaku when I saw this gem of an article that just made me go, "wtf!": Help Wanted: Arena Healer/Death Knight, 20 hrs/wk, Apply Within [http://kotaku.com/5363330/help-wanted-arena-healerdeath-knight-20-hrswk-apply-within].

What someone has brilliantly done is, used the local Craigslist service to seek out a WOW player that would assist (for 20 hrs a week, no less) the employer in acquiring an arena rating of 2,000 or greater. The best part is that there is apparently a reward of $50 per hour which increases when the employer gets past the 1850 arena rating. Oh and then there is the various requirements that "prospective applicants" must meet before responding to the ad.

....

Am I wrong in thinking that this is the most ridiculous thing to come out from WoW's existance?. Someone who is willing to pay good money (also, a lot of money) on something as trivial as arena ranking. Granted I don't play WoW so I have no idea if that's some major part of the game..but still..wow!

Edit: Well it's the guys own money (I presume) so he is free to do with it as he pleases, and, this is more of a look into the things that people would go through in order to get ahead of the competition rather than the sanity of said person.

I don't play WOW either but I don't need to to know this is sad and ridiculous.

Isn't the point of a game to have fun? And isn't that kinda lost when you pay someone else to play(or "assist") the game for you?

Well while i agree it is a stupid thing to do, he is paying for it. If that person makes the choice to waste their hard earned money that way, its really up to them. I think it speaks more to what people place value in now a days.
I couldn't agree more, though I am equally surprised at how a single game managed to reduce someone into this situation. I will never understand WoW and it's effects on some people.

It looks like someone's real life is so pathetic that he needs to prove himself in a videogame pissing contest and he's willing to spend thousands of dollars to do it... how sad. (I wish I could get a job like that though).

Something about that doesn't fit, why would you need to have DK to farm honor when honor is non-transferable between characters? farming honor on the DK would only benefit the DK, not the priest that this guy wants.

And yet another proud moment for WoW,showing the world that it is not a device created to sap people of their life and funds.

Well, even if I could of resisted,I just didn't want to

He's not farming honor, he wants a good arena rating, aka "you need a competent partner to win" fights.

However, even I don't agree with paying that amount of money for a rating...

Seriously :O. I love WoW but i don't love it that much.
Wouldn't it be easier to, i don't know, go to a really good guild and buddy up with someone instead of hiring someone.
Edit: Also isn't this slightly cheating and banhammer worthy from blizzard, its effectivly gold farming but instead its area points farming.
