Should people play WoW? If not why?
I personally hate it for stealing my life for a short period and making my friend almost fail a grade.

I did fail a grade because of it. Ok it was that and depression (when I still had the emotions needed for depression to manifest) That was over a year ago and 9th grade is now complete.
It can be addicting, but the same thing can be said about the internet as a whole to a lesser extent. It is the inate everlasting aura that floats around. It possesses no physical manifestation, nor does it need one to eventually hold power over all of you.

Blaming the game for failing a grade rather than a person. That's like me blaming porn for my chronic wank-ification.

Take responsibility.

You should, if nothing else than to prove to yourself that you have some degree of self control over your indulgences.

You can't really play WoW in moderation. At least, you can't play it and have a lot of fun in moderation.

A lot of the fun comes from guilds and socializing online, and if you only play part-time, you'll struggle to find others to play with.

So, unless they made it more solo-friendly, I think that it is bad for people overall. And ultimately, most people stop enjoying the game and just play it to "level-up", because they're addicted. I've been there, and I'll never go back.

So, I think it's bad for people. Usually with something like this I'd say it's up to the player to not play it too much, but as I said, you HAVE to play it a lot to actually enjoy it properly. Raiding and guild events are some of the best parts of the game, and it's rubbish without them after a month or two.

Oh yeah, and before someone tries to flame me to death, this is all my opinion on the matter. You aren't going to change my mind, so don't even try.

I don't really get why people play WoW..It's expensive and time consuming..All you do is grind levels till you hit the level cap and then there is another expansion that makes you grind all over again.

Maybe you can't.

Don't worry, I'm not trying to change your mind. I'm just telling you you're wrong.

Why shouldn't they play WoW is the better question. There is no reason why people shouldn't. It is true that some people who play it need more restraint and priority management.

really? 677 million people are engulfed by WoW? That is over twice America's population. Blizzard only reports 11 million subscribers so I am rather impressed with how much they are underestimating their subscriber count. I really would like to know where you get that statistic.

Assuming there are 6 billion people in the world 10 percent is 600 million. about 11 million people play World of Warcraft.

Win.

Played WoW for awhile, almost flunked a course...

Because I never did any work for the class, preferred raiding. Not the games fault.

If people can play the game in moderation and well understand that it is just a game can play it. It is just the people who lose their lives to it and think they are super awesome because of it that should never ever touch it again...

This is the worst question I have ever seen.

"Should" people play a game?
If they fucking feel like it, yes.
If they do not, no.
Basically, that. No matter what bad it did* to you or your friends, they can play it if they damn well feel like it. That's a horrible, horrible question.

*It probably didn't DO the bad, but everyone blames it.

Erm, why? They apparently have fun with it, so why shouldn't they play?

EDIT: Dammit, I double posted again. Sorry...D=
