Now, this game had sailed straight under my radar, until I saw this hands on. I'm quite a fan of thatguywiththeglasses, so I decided to watch it, and I'm shocked by the blatant rip-offishness of it.
Firstly, no trial. Whatsoever. I'm pretty sure that's not even allowed on XBLA, I mean, sure, marvel vs capcom kinda cheated by offering NO single player demo options, but this is full on nothing. It could be some sort of system mistake, but that still leaves us with a game that constantly feels "freemium" like angry joe said. You can buy items that increase your XP gaining rate for an hour, for goodness sake.
And what of all that legal stuff? I've never seen so much crap to sift through before playing a game! and I play a good few EA titles!
And the account thing? Sure it's a minor complaint, but seriously, how many accounts are we supposed to have these days!?
So, 1200 points, you have to sift through a ton of legal stuff to play, and then there's a whole ton more content that you have to pay for, some of which actually give people who do pay for it an upper hand.
Did penguin himself make this game or something!? Hopefully it ain't really popular, otherwise this could point to an incredibly dark future for the treatment of DLC.
What do you guys think? Have you played it, does it's gameplay make up for it's terrible moneygrabbing tactics.
