Now, this game had sailed straight under my radar, until I saw this hands on. I'm quite a fan of thatguywiththeglasses, so I decided to watch it, and I'm shocked by the blatant rip-offishness of it.

Firstly, no trial. Whatsoever. I'm pretty sure that's not even allowed on XBLA, I mean, sure, marvel vs capcom kinda cheated by offering NO single player demo options, but this is full on nothing. It could be some sort of system mistake, but that still leaves us with a game that constantly feels "freemium" like angry joe said. You can buy items that increase your XP gaining rate for an hour, for goodness sake.

And what of all that legal stuff? I've never seen so much crap to sift through before playing a game! and I play a good few EA titles!

And the account thing? Sure it's a minor complaint, but seriously, how many accounts are we supposed to have these days!?

So, 1200 points, you have to sift through a ton of legal stuff to play, and then there's a whole ton more content that you have to pay for, some of which actually give people who do pay for it an upper hand.

Did penguin himself make this game or something!? Hopefully it ain't really popular, otherwise this could point to an incredibly dark future for the treatment of DLC.

What do you guys think? Have you played it, does it's gameplay make up for it's terrible moneygrabbing tactics.

Yup, no demo in Insane Valley. Looks like a fun game, but OMGFAIL on the business model. GB Quick Look and Angry Joe should tell you more if you insist on maybe supporting this.

What's weird is that there is a demo on PSN (I've downloaded it). The actual core gameplay is fun and I wanted the game to do well, but there's just no way it will with all these issues. As Jim Sterling said on twitter, if they wanted it to be freemium they should it have made it freemium. This is having their cake and eating it.

And if they think I'd make a Warner Bros. ID they can sod off.

I would think that the 6 v 6 and the iron sights in an arcade-like, P2Win shooter is enough to seal the deal for a no buy..

MY INSIDES BURN AT THE INCORRECT USE OF GRAMMAR!

Jokes, but on a serious note: This is ludicrous, I do not plan on getting this, what was good looking, game due to it's lack of of being an affordable, easy service, fair game. #RightInTheKickerPublishers #That'sWhatYouGetForTryingToControlYourConsumers

What I have seen it is like TF before it went free you buy the game and you gan buy the weapons or unlock them trough gameplay.

As someone who actually has the game I need to set the record straight.

1. The game has a trial. You can play the full game, unlocks and all, for an hour. Buying afterward lets you keep everything you have unlocked and your stats.

2. You are not forced to buy anything. Nearly everything in the game can be unlocked by simply playing the game, including all equipment, weapons, or anything that would change gameplay. And not randomly either; it all unlocks pretty quickly through a progression system like Call of Duty Black Ops, letting you pick the order you unlock stuff. Everything can be bought with real money as well, but this only speeds up the process; it confers no other bonuses. The only things that can ONLY be bought are special costume items (cosmetic) and Modern Warfare style double xp.

3. The only announced DLC so far is free, including a title update due out in March.

4. The game is a lot of fun; sort of a faster paced TF2, and has a great sense of humor. For $15, its a pretty good deal.
