- The Cliffhanger endings of Both Halo 2 and Half Life 2 Ep 2..... So many 2's....

- Sargeant Johnson in Halo 3, His Demise. I striked down that monitor with an all mighty Vengenance after that. Then Watched Aliens so his memory would live on :D

- Bioshock. The. Enitre. Freaking. Game.

- Dawn of War. It was a Just Wow moment for me because I realised they actually pulled off a damn fun Warhammer 40K game.

- Warcraft 2: beyond the Dark Portal. Am i one of the only people that thought Wow, The Alliance mobilizing for the offensive? Awesome. Note, I HATE WORLD OF WARCRAFT.

- Halo:CE, Its a Wow moment for me because it was really the first console game I enjoyed. And Mastercheif was cool back then... Halo 3's Multiplayer ruined it for me.

Finishing Halo 3 not so much the last cutscene as the final part of the last level racing over falling platforms with simply amazing music playing.

Edit: Ofcourse, how could I forget the ending of Portal it made feel al warm and fuzzy inside.

Stepping out of Vault 101/the imperial sewer for the first time.

First steps into wonderful, gigantic, immersive worlds and the total joy of not even knowing where to go first!

Come on! You could've mentioned 'Portal' because Portal is a 'WoW' game (not World Of Warcraft WoW but just wow) and the Cake was not a lie!
No...just...no, that is not cool man!

Back on topic before I arouse the proverbial wrath of others, I would have to say the first time I was killed by a facehugger in AVP (it came from out of nowhere so it was more of a, and I quote, 'HOLY SHIT!' moment than a 'wow').
Dude you just called me a man.

Probably driving through the savannah in Far Cry 2 at sunrise, seeing all sorts of wildlife bounding about while the grass swayed...

Well I thought it was wow...

I think one of my coolest "wow..." moments was when I was playing Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. I was on the first level with the zombiebots (if you use the scope, it identifies them as "WTF?", which is awesome). There were a couple of them in a cage suspended from the ground by a wire. I decided to cut the wire, and instead of trying to kill me, they actually became my allies. It was fun watching them rip the mils limb from limb!

The aerial battle in Afro Samurai was one of the recent ones, brilliant fight, brilliant series, brilliant game...

EDIT: And any run on the "Untracked" slope in the first SSX game.

My latest 'wow' moment has to be whilst playing Resident Evil 5.
I was fighting Wesker for the first time and, like all previous bosses, decided to shoot him with a rocket launcher... But he caught it. So, as i crapped myself for a moment, i equiped a sniper and shot the rocket in his hands. BOOM... Fight over.

There are really two moments that come to mind.

Firstly there was that scene in BioShock where you confront Ryan. When you discover that you have been controlled for the entire time, plus the additional realisation that Atlas is actually Frank Fontaine, was an incredible 'wow' moment for me.

Secondly was a scene in the Portal Flash Map Pack. You are crawling through some air vents when you see the Borealis itself. A download worth getting, especially for that moment.

My first gaming "wow" moment happened when I was about 10 or 11. I came home from school one day to see my mother playing Super Mario 64 on a brand spanking new Nintendo 64. Up untill then we had only possessed a Super Nintendo, so the jump in graphics and gameplay was simply incredible. Even the appaling Cruisin' USA (The pack-in game) was briefly a source of wonder and awe to my newly exploded gaming horisons.

Mario in three dimensions for the first time, what can I say?
