"Mark of the beast"....... oh yeah? Hmph.. *nods, pretending to contemplate* I don't think it has much to do with Satan, but thanks for trying.

Microchips are a bad idea to begin with. I know they're good for few-and-far-between situations like missing kids and whatnot, but that whole thing makes me think of Gattaca and 1984. No thanks.

Being religious, I must wonder why they think banning them will do anything if they are the 'mark of the beast'. If it is the Mark of the Beast, which I actually don't think is in the bible, then making them illegal won't do shit because it's something that must and will happen.

I don't even have it in me to yell at the atheist assholes in this thread.
I've read up to this comment (assuming you made this before the other 4 pages worth of comments) and what atheist arseholes?

OT: Absolutely ridiculous reason, religion should never come in to law-making like this (I still don't understand why we swear on the bible in court). Not sure what I think about the law itself though.

Do we have these chips in Britain?

-_-

*sighs* I'm perfectly fine with the law itself, but can't people make smart legislation with the correct intentions? Why don't they just say "it's an attack on privacy" rather than spewing their end-times crap? Wouldn't that be more marketable?

Yea, I live in Charleston, SC (home of the "You lie!!" guy). No news from the south is ever good news. Except for Mr Stephen Colbert, that is.

Oh well, most people here are not dumb, racist, or a general embarrassment. We do have great music and beaches, so I'm not complaining.

Ussually on any thread that mentions the words religion you will see much bashing. And there was indeed plenty.

Isn't it against there constitution to involve religion in government(the law is part of the government, right?).
Many refute this due to technicality in the wording of the first amendment and say "the founding fathers were Christian, therefore this is a Christian nation" even though most were Deists

QFT. English people find your silly obsession with the book of revelations hilarious. I mean your christian beliefs migrated from Europe and not even the pope himself puts them to that much scrutiny.

Well. That's... odd. While I agree with the law I don't think the rationale is good. But hey, the ends justify the means I suppose.
