I wanted to try the Double Down (ironically, of course) so I went to my local KFC. I used to like KFC a lot, then I moved somewhere that didn't have one, then I recently moved again to a place that does. So this was the first time I had eaten at this particular KFC.

The sandwich was god-awful. The chicken had no breading, it tasted bitter and tough, the fries were burnt, and all the ingredients just seemed cheap. The quantity wasn't fantastic either for its price. I would chalk it up to a bad economy, but Popeye's offers more food for the same price and it's actually good. Of course, there's no Popeye's within 50 miles so I am chickenless for the time being. Which I guess is good for my overall health...

So my question is, has anybody else experienced the same thing? Has KFC initiated this franchise-wide program to cut costs as much as possible while keeping their prices the same, or is my local KFC just incompetent?

I think it's you're KFC because the one near me is fantastic. I even like their macaroni and cheese which is weird because I normally hate mac & cheese from a restaurant for some reason.

Haven't been there in a while though but I used to go every week and it was always good (although not good for me).

Ironically?

I am sensing a flimsy excuse

It's one of those things, like, "I know this is stupid, but I'm going to do it because it's that stupid and I can't resist."

I'd do the same thing if there was a KFC nearby and I cared enough.

I dunno, blalien. The KFC near where I live is kinda expensive, and the normal reason I go there is, it's also a Taco Bell, and I'm there just for the cheap Taco Bell stuff.

Yeah, but if you're going to do it ironically, don't complain when it's bad, rofl

KFC around here are generally discussed with racist things.

On topic, KFC here is fantastic. Fantastic. Don't really know about the pricing.

It looked good when Colbert ate one on TV.

I'm sorry, I'm a Popeyes fanboy, I wouldn't know what that's like. Although now I'm curious...
Popeye's was better than KFC when KFC was still edible. At this point it's the only place left for good fried chicken. I did a little dance when the Po' Boy became a regular item.
