I'm actually not sure why the video specifically cites World of Warcraft (Which is why I was reluctant to drop this in 'gaming discussion'). I don't really play WoW...so if there are any specific references in what he's saying then feel free to point them out. But, I'm almost certain they just use 'WoW' as a general way to identify a turbo nerd anyway.

Feel free to discuss/point and laugh (I lost it at around the time he started screaming 'YAAAAAHWEEEEEEEEEEEEEH'. I feel that the video raises several questions. o:

1.) What's wrong with him?

2.) Who's holding the camera? His wife? And if so, why?

3.) Why is he being arrested? From the video, I can only assume that he attempted to change his name, and that attempt was rejected...but then he started using his 'new name' on official documents anyway.

4.) Is it legal to arrest someone without telling them why they are being arrested? Keep in mind, the police officers told the man that there was a warrant for his arrest. I'm not familiar with the law, but that seems reason enough to arrest him without explanation.

5.) Is it impressive that he managed to flail away from the police officers and make a run for it while being hit with a taser? I don't think the taser was really deployed into him, just used like a stungun...but still, s'gotta sting.

6.) Was it wise for him to make his situation worse by resisting arrest and then making a run for it? I would think not.

7.) EDIT: Did the cops act appropriately given the situation? I think they showed a very impressive amount of restraint. Can't call police brutality here.

8.) ...What...is wrong with him?

Sounds to me like he was just being a crazy looney and disturbing the peace. And he reacts to the cops with ignorance and doesn't defer.

I'm assuming he got a warning for whatever he was being arrested for, but they didn't actually say.

Just seems like he was being difficult deliberately.

And yeah, in America, who KNOWS what's legal anymore. They can detain you without charge, so why not arrest you without telling you.

Either that or he's just a psychiatric patient on the loose.

But yeah, the connection to WoW... just sounds like media propogandizing the fact that he's a gamer.

Like being suspicious of a seriel killer because their favourite colour is yellow and then putting it in the news to make people think yellow is evil.

Nothing in that video had anything to do with WoW.

More people trying to stereotype WoW as a "bad" game.

Don't see anything that links him to WoW, just looks like some crazy guy resisting arrest.

As far as I know, if somebody has a warrant for their arrest the police don't have to tell them what the warrant is for. Normally they're issued if somebody fails to turn up for court. But yeah, he was being deliberately difficult and all the shouting could be classed as breaching the peace. Over here in England we have something similar called the Section 5 of Public Order Act which people can be arrested for from things such as drunk and disorderly to swearing in a public place.

But yeah, can't see what that has to do with WoW.

all i can say is "don't Tase me bro!"
his voice got on my nerves, so i didn't watch the whole thing. he's almost as bad as that kid on youtube who was demanding that Squaresoft shits down for making ff13 multi-platform. it's the same sort of nasal whine

"Wha is the CHARRRGE!? Wha is the CHAAARRGE!!?"
Jeez, shut the fuck up. That is the most stereotypical nerd voice I've ever heard in real life.
I wish these gentle fat lazy cops patroled my neighborhood. they put no effort into restaining him.
The cops around me would have grabbed his hair and slammed his face into the cement every time he tried to talk. Hell, they'll do that if they caught a tween playing knock-knock-zoom-zoom.

I call fake, I mean, some Cops aren't the fastest people on earth, but if it was a real arrest at least make an effort of some sort to capture him or call for help.

Amazing. I need to know more about this guy.
Agreed. There must be someone across the dystopian expanse of the Internet that at least knows this man's name. Heck, maybe he really is a WoW fan...

Let me also say that if this is real...I am very, very impressed with the amount of restraint the police officers used. In that situation, I may have broken out the taser as soon as the poetry started...

This made me laugh and invoked anger in me at the same time.
First of all, anyone being arrested has the right to know what they're being charged for. It's illegal to withhold that information. I learned THAT much from 8th grade Civics.
Apart from that. Sure this guy seems batshit insane but the police have no right to hold him to the ground and then taser him when they didn't even tell him why he's being arrested.
so yeah, make fun of me for taking this seriously. :X

I don't see any relation to WoW. Also in answer to number four of your question, police can do what ever the fuck they want, because they simply can, so I believe it is illegal but they can just do it anyway.
