Hi Guys

you've always helped me out in the past with whatever my issues, i'm hoping today is no different

I've just started to play WoW and it's got to the point where there aren't enough slots in my action bar to cover all of the abilities i've learned, how do i increase the size of the action bar. I was watching videos of WoW on youtube and it looks like you can have multiple layers of commands but i just don't get how to do it!

Also i need advice on the whole professions thing

Whats the relevance of skinning or herbalism or whatever, i'm a warrior at the moment and i was wondering what things i should specialise in

Thanks for any help you guys give me, also i'm prepared to get flamed by the WoW veterans but w/e we all start somewhere!

uh... from memory - options, interface, actionbar, open actionbar 2/3/4?

Something like that? The options UI has probably changed since then anyway.

If it's anything like the other MMO I played there's a hotkey like tab or something that will switch through the layers of hotkey bars.

^This. Also, if I may suggest, download Bartender4 add on (www.curse.com, search for it there), makes your bars better, easier to manage and more flexible. Also, just to start you onto this idea early, start getting used to some good keybinds (the ones near your left hand's position on WASD) and don't use all 12 default bindings - 12345 and maybe 6 are good numbers, RFCVGTYH are good letters to use for binding. If you want expert advice, search for a thread on TankSpot forums, they have a really good guide on keybindings.

Of professions, considering you're starting out, I'd suggest two out of skinning/mining/herbalism. Skinning is the easiest to level (and there's not too many skinners about so leather is actually worth something iirc), herbalism/mining are slightly worthless at the moment, but will pick up at Cataclysm though I have no idea for how long. Stats-wise, skinning and herbalism are quite useless - skinning gives you a tiny bit of crit, herbalism gives you a heal over time (which is not bad for leveling though). Mining gives you a boost to health, which is actually decent and up to par with crafting professions - if you're a tank (as no one else really needs Stamina).

Without some starting capital, you're not gonna get far with a crafting profession, but if you have some friends you can get help from (by this I mean RL friends mostly, cause bothering most online ones will just earn you bad rep with them), enchanting is a good choice - as long as you can keep leveling it as you go along (you'll need help at a few levels for some harder crafts though), you'll be able to start making some cash once you get up to a higher level and disenchant all 70-80 quest rewards. Not to mention, with Cataclysm shortly starting, the new enchanting mats will be quite expensive for a while, so if you get it ready to disenchant level 80-85 quest rewards, you'll be off to a really nice start when the expansion hits.

In the settings/option menu when you hit Escape, there's a box to enable more toolbars, I believe. There's also a way to enable moving icons around in the hotkey boxes by click-dragging.

Go to interface in the start menu and go to either Ui or the Action bars panel, from there you can open more bars (Left, Right, Bottom, Top)

Or you can get an addon called Dominos that will increase the amount of action bars to 12!

This is what my interface looks like with Dominos and 2 other addons.

Also i need advice on the whole professions thing

Well, some proffessions gives you stat bonuses.
Skinning gives you 40+ crit rating at level 450
Mining gives you toughness i think witch is like 25 strength or stamina
and so on, I don't remember all right now...

But go for whatever you like. It's a free world. And the bonuses are not that important. Well, Herbalism and Alcemy sounds like a good thing for a leveling warrior since you might need health pots from time to time, and it's great sick money in it.

If you don't want to use addons, you can decrease the size of your UI, and I believe in Interface option, there are options to add action bars to side and to the bottom.
