I wanted to agree with you, but you lost all credibility right there. Without pornography we wouldn't be where we are today, it is a driving force, a divine blessing and its what the net was created for.

In other words porn is a lot more like a drug than WoW is, lord knows I'm addicted.
It's something for lonely people, lonely people shouldn't be lonely. Want Sex? Go out there and get some, google isn't god you know?

Failing that its for teens, Im 15 and I think the stuff is imature garbage.

There is one MMORPG that can save people lives...
But if you die theres no respawn points!

I've given up caring about this debate. As someone who plays it I don't know how people can actually get 'addicted' to it, I also think that if they do get addicted to it they should just be cut loose. Chances are that if they weren't playing WoW they'd be 'addicted' to another one.

Hmph. Wow (no pun intended): a thread that I can speak to both as a player and as a person who got a {relatively useless} degree in psychology.

You have to consider the nature of the (cough) drug, or if it is less offensive to your sensibilities, the medium of addiction-- lolzorssrryImaLargenottamedium.

Is World of Warcraft physically addicting? To crib from Yahtzee, Short answer, No. Long answer: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

This is not a subject that is open to debate. As much as WoW might create some sort of unique crescendo of neurological soup within a person's brain, the mechanism by which it does it is not a physical one. I.e.- to be physically addicting, the mechanism of addiction must involve adding an external chemical to the mix.

Is WoW psychologically addicting? Sure. But people, I hate to break it to you, there are people out there who are psychologically addicted to TEDDY BEARS. (I am not even fucking kidding.) You can get psychologically addicted to your SOCKS if you are that particular brand of messed up, ffs.

The long and the short of it is that there are people who will get addicted to something, because, frankly, they are on some subconscious level looking to invest that amount of attention and obsession into something. WoW, because it is very very popular, just offers the convenience of opportunity.

Next subject.

THANK YOU! I haven't been able to find a perfect way to put it, but there it is.

This man(woman?) speaks truth!

I'm 20, I live with my girlfriend and am sexually active, I do get lonely, but only for family and friends who I don't consider when engaging in any form of sexual activity.

I watch porn, purely for masturbatory material (apologies for those for whom this is too much info) masturbation is a natural form of sexual relief and it saves me constantly bugging my significant other for sex. It helps relieve stress and generally just feels good.

So how about before claiming that something is bad or "immature garbage" as you chose to put it, you learn to look at things from a point of view which is free of your evident bias.

TL:DR
Get over yourself you pompous twat.

Most fierce defending of pron EVER. I'm hardly pompus just think porn is somewhat degrading, Especially considering its not even actaull sex half the time and "Oh look this girl has big **** and large **** go **** watch her do random crap!". But alas I'm not in the mood to argue today, agree to disagree.

Just before we drop it completely, I just wanted say that its degrading to those who choose to be degraded by it. And I also want it known that I'm not defending people who watch porn for the hell of it. If they want to do so, so be it, but I can't say I understand it and I think its rather sad. Porn to me is a sexual aid, whether for personal use, or for both yourself and your partner. It can in fact spice up dwindling relationships in some cases.

Just let it be known too that its possible for opinions to change, I seem to recall a time when I had no interest in porn and felt much the same as you. By no means am I suggesting that you will change your mind, or that you should, just that opinions change with age when you can appreciate someone elses position more readily.

By the way sorry about the pompous twat remark, the immature garbage remark was a tad cutting. This could possibly be because a lot of the stuff I watch is immature garbage, but its sexy immature garbage, and therein lies the key.
