World of Warcraft Wotlk and Cata. Such crappy expansions but thats what happens when you fire people for making something to hard or send them to make a different mmo and hire a guy who has a marine bio degree. But people keep buying it up but i have seen my ways but i shall miss my warlock Gladiator Gorgoroth forever. Seewuitididthur
Why don't you like the expansions?

Anyways, I can't think of many yet, but I know that Duke Nukem is going to fit the bill pretty much perfectly.

I really don't play many games that are considered scary and, therefore, games that have things widely considered inappropriate.

But I did play The Lost And Damned, the addon in which Rockstar decided to insert male frontal nudity just for the hell of it . I am not lying. There is no reason for the one moment in that game, yet it is there.

And they got away with it alright.

Apparently, Hot Coffee, which is a mod no less, was a thousand times worse than this.

I do often ask myself, how the hell did New Vegas come out so buggy? I mean surely they must have had a team of thirtyish testers. Did their game not freeze at least once?!

I wasn't offended at all, but I'm surprised nobody got angry about the Evokers in Persona 3.

Basically: To cast spells, your characters (mostly teenagers) have to shoot themselves in the head. They're not really using guns, but they look exactly like guns and it's obvious they were going for that kind of symbolism.

Can't think of anything that made me feel like a game had crossed the line, though.
I love that moment in the game, where one of the male characters is talking to you about how you'd have to be fairly crazy to actually put a gun to your head and pull the trigger.

That said, whether it looks like a gun or not, it is 100% known to not be one. So...

Side note: How exactly does the thing work anyways?

Bayonetta
murdering angels by summoning demons and killing God at the end of the game. How wasn't this game targeted by christian groups? did they just have to admit that it was awesome?
and now I give you... Bayonetta punching God into the sun.

That always did piss me off. Bayonetta, God of War, Dante's Inferno, Darksiders, THOSE were ignored by the Christian right. Mass Effect wasn't.
WHAT THE FUCK?!

Okay, now to the subject, my "They actually got away with this?" moment was the torture scenes in Black Ops. Not because they were gruesome, but because they seemed to indicate that after the first two games controversial images, Treyarch was just trying too hard. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a rape scene or dead babies in Modern Warfare 3.
The Christian Right. Yeah. Because Fox News totally speaks for every single one of us. Fox News is a telecom company first and foremost, and they did it for ratings and probably because they were paid to pass the message. It was an attack on Bioware, and its audience was old people and people who thought games were bad to begin with. And I did notice Dante's Inferno. I noticed it was the worst GoW ripoff I've ever played. Also, I think the propaganda goes that Mass Effect had alien sex while the others had human sex.

Quake 4, Strogg Scene.

Easily the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in a game. I've seen intense gore and dismemberment in games plenty, that was the first and only time I was forced to watch it done to my own character while being kept alive, moving down an assembly line like I was a chunk of meat.

It still gives me the willies. And I have no idea how the ESRB didn't go "Wtf no. Take that out."
Sure there has been far more graphic violence, sometimes done to your character like Dead Space death scenes. The difference with the Strogg conversion for me was that you were on an assembly line of this shit going on, and you saw what was gonna happen to you going on to the guy before you, and couldn't move or anything. And having liked the Quake 2/4 story, it was eerie to really see how little the Strogg thought of humans as nothing more than meat to use as parts.
I remember that and honestly it didn't seem that bad to me. There's been gorier and more torture-y scenes in video games that got past the ESRB.

Also the only really bloody part was when the saw chops your legs off. I admit it made me cringe a bit.

Deus Ex: You can kill children
Deus Ex Invisible War: You can kill children. You can BURN THEM TO DEATH WITH A FLAMETHROWER. And all you get is a verbal reprimand.

Maybe the reason they get away with this stuff is because people know its just a game. If you find it offensive in some way then just know play it.

As for me, iv'e never played a game like that but i still wonder how Nintendo gets a way with releasing the close to same games every time. (Mario, Metroid, Legend of Zelda and now Kirby)

The Path.

The game's all about the death of six children. One of them gets her neck stretched out about a foot.
Underage sex & rape of a fifteen-year-old are implied.

And it's a recent game too.
Wait, what? Who gets their necked streched out?

Oh, also... actually somebody already mentioned the ending to Bayonetta, so never mind...

A Serbian Film. How the fuck did that ever get a green light? And even more importantly, how did it ever get a cast!?
Sick film..

Right at the beginning of Lost and Damned. I don't think there's any need to explain.

I love that thing. I think it's great that you can dismember all your limbs, spin so fast that you decapitate yourself, kill your child, lose several gallons of blood, and still end up with VICTORAAAAEEEEYYYY!

No mention of our eyeball buddy, Zero? Ripping out his own pupil as a last stand against Kirby, complete with blood? In a game marketed toward children?

It almost looks like Kirby's giving a bit of a WTF expression.

(Also, Giygas. No, not because of the rape/fetus theory, but seeing that boss for the first time when I was at the tender age of eight years old? A kid's worst enemy is her own imagination)

Why was he banned? The post he was banned for wasn't even that bad.

OT: The Brood Mother in Dragon Age, although that was more me questioning HOW they made it (without throwing up).
