Im sorry, but how exactly is WoW becoming too Noob Friendly? I watch my friends and still we see people bitching about how hard endgame is.

Are you ignoring the fact that all of WoW is endgame?? They raise the level cap so we get to see more numbers on the screen and more cool moves. But the Endgame is Still Vs Extremely Hard Monsters and OTHER PEOPLE.

People complained LOADS before how hard it was to get to endgame. Now it's MUCH easier to get to where the game takes place.

It's all the elitist who say it doesn't offer a challenge, have they even taken the time to see. NO. NONE OF THEM. NOT A SINGLE PERSON. Whoever says the game is too noob friendly, so therefore quit. I'm CALLING YOU THE FUCK OUT. Bring it on and tell me how boring the grind from 50-60 was? Tell me what the other players are all missing? Go on SHARE how these Boss Battles and PvP ARE SOOOOOO much easier?

The thing is, the answer to all of these are obvious. The game is user friendly now to get you right to the spot you want to be at. They knew and you knew everything in the middle was filler for what is the epicness of WoW endgame.

On a broadband connection it'll take a couple days at most to download and install them.
What kind of 'broadband' are you talking about?
It took me 2 hours.

In all I think lowering the subscripion cost would likely help new players come in cause it is kinda steep considering they already make way too much money (£38.15 per second on average from the subscriptions alone)
Where does £38.15 come from and how can you possibly pay that for playing per second? Three seconds of game time is over £100?

Where did you get this number and what is the reasoning behind it?

It's the amount of money Blizzard receive from WoW, not how much people pay.

Theres around 11 million players each paying £8.99 a month. So 11 million times 8.99. Divide by 30 for the average month to get daily income. Divided by 24 for hourly. 60 for mins. And 60 for per second.

EDIT: just read my original post again and it was unclear it was for all subs so I've edited it a bit. Thanks for pointing that out

Just that if they are making such an insane number from subscriptions I don't get why they can't lower the subscriptions, there is no way server maintainence costs that much. And I always felt that the subs were the factor that a made alot of players decide if they were going to get WoW or not.

Recently I considered starting up my WoW account again after my exams had finished (in the latter half of the summer) but realised to catch up I would have to buy 2 expansion packs each worth £25. This then made me realise how unfriendly the game is to new players since to catch up they have to pay around £90 for discs (£20 for original and TBC and £25 for WotLK and Catyclysm) and of course the subscription costs of £9 a month.
New players don't need both expansions. Unless you're using refer a friend or just playing the shit out of it, you should have a couple of months as a new player before you need Wrath of the Lich King (sure, a serious player can get to 70 pretty fast, but if you're that dedicated the price probably isn't putting you off too much).

Once Cataclysm comes out, I'd expect the price of the previous stuff to fall a little.
True, but if you come into the game wanting to be a blood elf, dranei, goblin or worgen you will need the expansions to do so. But still you'll need to buy all the discs to catch up when you get there and even if the prices of discs drop a bit it will still be fairly expensive

I'd say it's not customer friendly since Eve-o expansions, for example, are free and come as patches.

Actually, the last few patches and the oncoming expansion have vastly improved the game for newcomers and old familiar friends.

They drasticly lowered the amount of EXP needed to level up.
They lowered the levels for mounts to 20 and 40, instead of 40 and 60. As well as the cost.
And Cataclysm will streamline the quests in Azeroth to the quality we now have.

The only thing that is slightly hard for a new player is the Auction House.
stuff is just way overpriced in there.
The thing you need to realize about WoW is that its not there to be fun. Its there to make people money. This game wasn't made by Richard Garriot so you just have to accept the fact that half the game will completely blow and any progress made in the game will only be to encourage you to continue playing due to the psychological phenomenon called "Loss Aversion"

Maybe it was a good game before TBC or WOTLK. But I can tell you I started playing when WOTLK first came out and there is nothing to this game besides competition. Competition to have the best gear, the highest stats, and the fastest kills. Its really not a leisurely game. Sure they made some of the leveling easier but its still just as boring. Northrend is by far the most boring place in the entire game. Everything is just copy and paste there. Each dungeon has 3 bosses, trash mobs, next to no BOEs. Its junk.

If only UO could be brought back before pub 12. That game was so good you didn't even need 3d or flying mounts.

Save your money, start yourself a game fund or something. WoW is just a money sink.

You do realize that ALL games are made to make money, right?
WoW is indeed no exception, but it can still be fun.
I have been playing for 5 years. I started a few months after the release.
And so far I enjoyed it, I have had loads of fun while playing.

People have different views of fun, but don't bash down a game because it's "just a money sink." Cause every game is.

Hardcore WoW players are like Halo nuts, utter assholes if you ask me (Not being mean to anyone on this site) when i first started out, i was lucky i had a high level friend, but everyone else treated me like trash save a few people.

in my eyes, we all have to start somewhere right? but im glad i stoped playing the game years ago.

By leveling from 70-80 using just the random dungeons, my friend was able to buy 3 pieces of tier 9 gear as soon as he hit 80.

If free tier gear is not new player friendly, then what exactly is?

Call BS on it all you want. It happened. It can happen. Try it out if you don't think so.

I had a cracked version that allowed me to play on only one server, for free, with WotLK expansion.

It was horrendously boring.
