I looks fun. I'm personally hoping that there's a Metal Gear Solid cameo somewhere in the movie, because I simply cannot fathom any juxtaposition of anything Kojima to what I've seen in the trailer and it not being hilarious.

Canon-wise, both names are accurate. His real name IS Robotnik (SA2 pretty much confirmed that beyond all doubt), but he apparently prefers to go by Eggman.

When I said his name was originally Eggman I was referring to when the series began in Japan. They changed his name to Robotnik in the US version to make it sound more evil.

Please bear in mind I don't hate the name Robotnik. In fact I think it IS cooler than Eggman. But Eggman is easier to say, and besides, it's the same guy either way.

Honestly, I think it looks rather lame so far. The cameos are cool and all (even if the Zangief one is garbage), but the movie that seems to be built around them just doesn't look like it's going to be good. It's Pixar, so it probably won't end up being bad.. but I just just don't see what everyone is getting excited about beyond the initial thrill of the cameos.
