WTF happend to Digimon?

When i was younger I used tow atch Digimon every time it wa on TV, but now like most cool things its been lost in time and not very many people give a shit about it.

It started to suck major balls after the second season when pretty much all the original characters where conveniently forgotten about and the story got even shallower than it already had been.

I think it's a case of the original fan base growing out of it, and not being able to bring in younger kids to replace them.

although i'm 20, and bought digimon world for the ps1 a few weeks back, and had a massive sesion of watching the first season on t'internet last weekend
